Re: downloading games

Have you tried doing a cold reboot on the Wii? Hold the power button in for about six seconds until it turns off. The LED on the front should be red. Wait a few seconds then turn it back on.

If this doesn't fix it you probably need to get with Nintendo. Your Wii might have bad memory.

I bought Super Mario Bros. 3 from the Wii Shop Channel, but when I attempt the play the game the screen just goes black and all that's left are the words "invalid format." Also, the TV is an...

Here is what it says in Nintendo Wii SHop:

Some newer-model televisions may have difficulty properly displaying some Virtual Console games downloaded from the Wii Shop Channel. If you are experiencing problems (such as a blank screen but you can hear the game's audio), please try the following:
Try changing the way your Wii console is connected to your television. For instance:
    • If the Wii console is connected to a VCR or cable box, try connecting the Wii directly to the TV (how to).
    • If the Wii console is connected to the TV directly, try connecting it to a VCR (how to).
    • If possible, try connecting to another TV.

If any of the above are successful, it is recommended you use the connection that works. If the Virtual Console game still did not display properly after trying different connection types, please call 1-800-255-3700 to discuss available options.

I can't get wii points

There are two ways to purchase Wii Points:
Purchase Wii Points through the Wii Shop Channel:
Using a Visa, or MasterCard, you can purchase Wii Points through your Wii console using the Wii Shop Channel's secure servers. To purchase Wii Points through the Wii Shop Channel:
  1. Access the Wii Shop Channel through the Wii console's Channel menu.
  2. If this is your first time using the Wii Shop Channel, read the User Agreement and click "I agree" if you understand and agree to the terms. Click "Okay" after reading the Wii Shop description.

  4. Click the "Add Wii Points" button.
  5. Select "Buy Wii Points with a Credit Card."
  6. Select the amount of Wii Points you would like to purchase. (Please note there is a maximum number of points that can be available on each Wii console.)
  7. Select the credit card type you would like to use to buy Wii Points. The Wii Shop accepts Visa, or MasterCard.
  8. Enter the credit card number, expiration date, and three digit security code. Select "OK" when finished.
  9. Enter your city, state, zip, and county. Click "okay" to continue. Please do not input any punctuation, such as periods, commas, and apostrophes into the street, city, or county fields. For instance, "St. Clair Ave" would be "St Clair Ave" when entered.
  10. Review the purchase details on the confirmation screen, and select "Yes" when finished.

How do i get wii shop chanel

To get to wii shop channel first you need to configure your system
Configure your Nintendo Wii for a wireless Internet connection. The only way to access the Wii Shop is by having an Internet connection and a wireless router. The Nintendo Wii has a built-in wireless router that can pick up signals from wireless Internet connections. Make sure that your wireless Internet router is close enough so that the Nintendo Wii can pick up a signal.

Loading Wii Shop;
Use your Wii remote to select the Wii Shop from the main Wii channel menu. The Wii Shop is located in the top right-hand corner of the screen. If your Internet access is not set up yet, then you will be prompted and automatically brought to the Internet Configuration menu. Once your Internet is set up, you will either be brought back to the Wii Shop or the main channel menu.

Navigating the Main Menu
Look at the main Wii Shop menu. Here you will be given two main options with a couple of general options at the bottom of the screen. The first option is to look for games for the virtual console. The Virutal Console contains games from past systems like Turbo Grafx 16, NEOGEO, NES, Super Nintendo and Nintendo 64. Once you have loaded the virtual console menu, you can search games by most popular title, new titles, system, genre or price. When you have found a game that you are interested in, press the "A" button to see a more detailed description with a couple of screen shots, and find out how many Wii Points the game costs.

Wii Points
Purchase Wii Points directly through the Wii Shop by using a credit or debit card. You will use the Wii remote to point and select all of the card holder information. The minimum amount of Wii Points you can buy is 1,000 for $10, so if you want a game for 700 Wii Points, then you will have 300 points left over for future purposes. Instead of using a credit card through the Wii store, you can purchase a Wii Points card at a local retailer. These cards come in different point values, and 100 points represents a dollar.

Downloading the Software
Finalize your game purchase by confirming how many Wii Points will be deducted from your account. Once you have done this, the game download will begin. While it only takes a few minutes to download, you can see the progress by watching a Mario character jump and hit a brick. Once he has reached the third brick, your download is complete. From there, you can continue to shop in the Wii Shop or play the game.

Wii Ware
Check out the other option that is labeled as "Wii Ware." Wii Ware is a lot like the Virtual Console, but everything created here is new and original for the Wii. You can get updated channels like the new Photo Channel or get exclusive Wii Shop games like "Midnight Pool" and "Family Table Tennis." The games here actually are interactive Wii games, and you can get the full game for a lot cheaper than a new Wii game from a store.

I cant play my game .

This can occur with a damaged or scratched disk. Or if this is the virtual console version, it has perhaps become corrupted and would need to be downloaded again via the Wii Shop Channel.

Bought and downloaded games from Wii Shop, got audio, no visual

You just need to go back in and re download the games again. Sometimes that happens, either that or you won't even be able to play at all. Just go back into the WII shop and go to the recently downloaded and click on re download. That will fix it. Good luck. Let me know if this was helpful.

Can we play gamecubegames inside the wii console, if so how?

You can do both. With internet you can download Nintendo 64 games on the wii shop channel. For game cube games enter the controller in slot one, enter the game and it's like you don't have a wii!

Note: due to the fact the the wii remote does not have enough buttons ALL N-64 games need a gamecube controller or a classical controller. Game Cube games are not compatible with classical controllers.
