Transferring to personal mailbox

I'm having difficulty figuring out how to transfer a call to the personal mailbox of another handset. Does each mailbox have to be on a separate phone line to do this? If not, then any tips on how to do it properly?

The voicemail and display (internal and external), have all been changed for a new employee. She has recorded a greeting, however, whenever a call is transferred to her internally the recorded name - that...

The recording you need to change is the "name in the company directory".Thats done by entering thier mailbox pressing the admin soft key then pressing the number 1, saying both thier first and last name and pressing ok.

The phone you are transferring to would have to be an extension with out a mailbox, then once it forwards after 4 rings to vm it will not go to its vm it will go to the general co greeting.

Voicemail won't allow recording transfers back to receptionist!

Are the mailboxes set up?? What happens is a call goes to an extension, there is one program set to tell the system that if a call rings 4 times, go here(voicemail). Once it goes there, the voicemail system sees that there is or is not a mailbox matching that extension. If there is, the call goes to voicemail, if not, it transfers to the operator.

OR.....Does your system display the correct time? Its possible that the phone system lost its programming, and doesnt know where the voicemail is.

Both might need a professional tech on site...a bit too hard to help over a forum.

TalkSwitch 48 disconnects call after transfer

You are using the wrong option for transfer -- the one you are using is a conference which requires the person transferring the call to stay on the line. You need the option which permits a blind transfer or announced transfer. This issue is specifically discussed in the manual.

Started saying "Enter Mailbox 124"

Try checking to see if Auto Attendent has been activated at the base. Auto Attendant acts as a virtual (though confusing!) operator if you have multiple mailboxes activated. When it's off, Mailbox 1 should be the default and just play your recorded greeting only.

P.S. I had a similar problem and figured out it was actually saying mailbox Enter Mailbox 1 to 4. ;) Hope this Helps!!

One of the phones in the office is going to be the administrator.  With the handset down, have them type * then their administrator mailbox number - it will turn speakerphone on and say "the harddisk is__% full" - press 9 and then 2 - it will ask for the mailbox number - type in your extension - one of the options is to reset the password...
