If the fuse was at the or near the AC plug chances are your got a power surge, if you did you got very lucky the fuse was there you might want to get a surge protector on the set ... But sometime you get just a defective fuse as long as the set is working I would not worry about it

My fuse blew in my Samsung 53" Plasma TV. I changed it, but it's blown again? What should I do next?

The fuse blown because theres a short circuit connection in the PCB power supply of your television. Please check the power supply inside, remove the back cover to see the power supply section.unplug first to avoid electric shock. Will you check the bridge type diode first. If the bridge type diode or diodes is shorted the fuse is always blown.Using digital tester check diodes, regulator transistor, and other transistor around the power supply.

My vizio is three years old one day watching it and then off no picture no sound no led light is there a reset or a fuse

Had EXACT same thing happen this week. Same TV as yours, 3 yrs old (purchased Feb 2008, Costco). TV wouldn't turn on, and usually does a "click-click" when you insert the power cord and now nothing.

Solution - had to replace a single $1 fuse.

1) Put tv face down on a flat surface
2) remove legs
3) remove back (there's like 30 screws with 3 different sizes/threadings)
4) right where the power connects up to the big main brown circuit board, there's 2 fuses flanking the sides of a white clip.
5) I test the fuses and the one on the left blew out.
6) Fry's + $5 for 5-pack of Slow Blow 8amp 250v fuse = fixed TV.

I would bet that it's the same for you. A little labor, but much cheaper than a new tv or repair shop.

Note, the fuse is a litte hard to remove, just try to put something underneath it or maybe even pry it out with plyers. It's ceramic so pretty hard to break but still don't squeeze with the plyers too hard.

You'll need the 5mm x 20mm, ceramic, slow blow out 8amp 250v fuse. Radio Shack doesn't carry it. Fry's does. As I'm sure other places online will as well.

Found 1 of the 2 ac supply ( 8amp) fuses blown on the main pwr. supply. Replaced fuse and good so far. Looked over the ps for damaged components, none found. Checked current with ampmeter with tv on, showing 3amps. Cheers

Won't power on...

The TV probably has an internal short, most likely in the power supply. If you open it, you will probably find the main fuse is blown (which is why it didn't trip the breaker again. Don't bother replacing the fuse until you find and fix the short - you'll just blow the new fuse and probably trip the breaker again.

Blows main fuse when power is turned on

Shorted power supply/module is most likely problem.
