Question about Whirlpool GGQ8831L Gas Dryer

Just another damb heating problem

OK- 2 nights ago we threw in a load in our whirpool dryer, in the morning it was still running, with no heat- tryed it again the next day and the heat stayed on for about 10 minutes- , I just restarted it and it seems to go through the whole cycle just fine-
any ideas? I seem to have good air flow, not much lint- dont know if it would be the thermal switches- with it working all the sudden.

On gas dryers there are two coils on the burner assy. (small black cylinder with two wire haness) one opens initially to allow gas for ignition after that the flame sensor will allow the secondary to open for continuous flame i suggest replacing them both

Why does my dryer have no heat and keeps running when i use the timed heat-sensing selection?

Suspect vent still plugged with lint, leave vent disconnected and run dryer, stay within eyesight when doing this, if the dryer dries the clothes, then look for blockage in the vent pipe to the outside.

I have a Whirpool LER6620PQ0 dryer. It runs but does not heat. I just replaced the heating element, and it still is not heating. What else can it be?

Make sure that you 220 volts AC across the two slanted slots of the power socket--if zero or near it, one of the twin breakers in the house electrical panel for the dryer may have failed. Try pushing the breaker off, then back on and recheck for voltage at the socket. If now ok, try the dryer again. If not ok, then possibly one of the breakers has failed. Hope this helps!

Kenmore Dryer doesn't shut off and doesnt' get hot

Hi,
The most common problem with a gas and no heat is the ignitor going bad...

Here is a tip that I wrote about that problem...

Heats when unit is not on

Same thing just happened to my DEGX1. I took it apart and one of the heating elements had broken and fell to the bottom of the metal case. I think it was creating a short to ground and making it heat. I removed the broken element wires and attached them back best I could and did a test run with no problems. It is not heating when off now either. searspartsdirect.com had the elements for $67 so I ordered a set and will replace both of them (part #395583). My dryer is only 4 years old and 3 weeks ago the driver belt broke. Irritating they can't make them last any longer these days.

Whirpool Washer LSQ9500LQ0 Won't Spin or Drain

Your belt assessment sounds correct on the dryer problem.
If you can, restore the lid switch connections, and operate the switch during what should be spin. You should be able to hear a relay or solenoid clicking off and on with the switch.

Element heats, dryer tumbles, no heat in drum, never shuts off

Hi, If the dryer heats but will not advance in either time or auto cycles, you need to change the timer.
You can test to see if the timer is getting voltage. Remove the top rear panel and locate the two wires going to the timer motor. There should be 120V when the dryer is running in time dry.
Please let me know if this helps or if I can assist you further.

Thanks
Vic

Whirlpool electric dryer not drying

If the drier drum is still turning I would suspect a separate fuse is open for the heating element. Checking this may require openning the back cover. It may also be a defective or open heating element.

Dryer is not heating and will not stop running

if you were running it on timed cycle and it was still running with no heat then you have a bad timer and if you were running it on auto cycle and it was still running and its electric dryer then you have a bad element ,,, if its gas you may have a bad ignitor / larry
