Question about HP PSC 2210 All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

Scanner I have an hp psc 2210 all in one printer. Everything is working except the scanner which I urgently need to use. I click on scan and then start, but it keeps saying 'busy' and after a while it says that it's not connected to the computer (my macintosh) but it certainly is. What can I do to fix this?

You then probably need to remove your software and reinstall. Try to get the newest version from HP's website first.

I'm no Mac person so I can't help you too much with that but it sounds like a software issue if the machine can copy and print.

The reason may be that the software is not installed properly. Did you try to scan from computer?

From computer you can try from Hp Director/ HP Solution Center or from scanner and camera wizard.

Scanner does not work

I have the same problem, but if you go to Start > All Programs > Accessories > Paint and then select File > From Scanner or Camera you can scan this way.

Can't get scanner to work

Try oprning up Windows Photo Gallery, then File tab at top, then click on Import from Scanner or Camera.

The HP should come up as an option, so click on it.

I found that with upgrade to Vista, the actual SCAN button on the HP 2210 did not work -- but this back door through Photo Gallery lets me scan and import the scan as a jpg file.

Scanner bar seems stuck

You will need a torx driver and or phillips to take it apart. Just common sense and patience will get that accomplished. What you want to do then is find the cables that run from the scanner to the circuit boards, disconnect them and reconnect them. Ribbon cables need to be gently removed and be sure when replacing them you don't get any folds in them.
If the that doesn't work, then most likely the board or scan motor have failed. You may also want to look in the scanner and see if the home position sensor, which would be a U shaped sensor has popped out. The clicking is from the scan head trying to find the home ( start) position sensor and not finding it. When it works correctly it drives back until a little flag passes between the light and the photo sensor within that home sensor. Once the light is broken the scan motor shuts off and positions the lamp properly.

Scanner not working

Please open HP director from Start - All programs - HP .

Click Scan document to scan.

You can scan by following steps :
For Windows XP:
To isolate the issue I suggest you to try scanning from the Windows Image acquisition(WIA) wizard on the computer.

Follow the below steps to Scan using WIA
1.Verify that the all-in-one product power is turned on and the printer cable is properly connected.

2.Click Start then Click All Programs then Click Accessories then Click Scanner and Camera Wizard.

3.Follow the Scanner and Camera Wizard instructions to scan images to the computer.

Waiting for you reply.

HP 2210 scanner issue

If you go to the START button and scroll to ALL PROGRAMS, then up to the ACCESSORIES option, there should be a SCANNER/CAMERA wizard option. If you click that option, it should take you through the scanning process.
Or, if you put what you want scanned on the screen and press the SCAN button on the actual printer, it will do the same thing.

Good luck.
