The Acer 3000 series and 3610 series has different set of Parts, Hence Swapping the LCD screen may damage your other 3610 LCD also. Please try to get a replacement for Aspire 3000 LCD.
Sorry for the delay, yes I sorted it out - Basically the backlight had gone in my LCD screen, you have 2 options....1. Buy a backlight off eBay and try and fit it yourself (Very tricky, risk of damaging the screen or 2.Get yourself a relacement screen, this is what I opted to do, found a secondhand screen on eBay for £7.50 and fitted it myself - Works a treat....!
Big tip: If you can't find your model on eBay, look for a brand new screen and it will have in the listing compatible models, then look for a used one on eBay for that different model, my laptop is a 4150 and got a used screen from an Acer 3000,
Does it appear to be doing anything. Is there a flashing "_" at the top left of your screen. If not try hooking a monitor up externally and turning the laptop on.
