My 2GB does the same thing, I'm going to take it back to the store and see what they can do and if they can fix it I'll post how.

I am also having the exact same problem...its stuck on 'refreshing database' After I downloaded some more songs right before a vacation. I was going to use it on the plane during my 6 hour flight. I tried everything I could think of.

I took the battery out, tried connecting to my computer again, and again. Even let it sit overnight to see if time would fix it (it was worth a shot).

I got mine free from a giveaway, so if there is no cheap solution to getting it fixed, I will go buy a better product and then see how far my Sandisk will fly after being beaten with a 3 wood.

Hi,
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

I have sansa sandisk reburb 2GB mp3 player, it shows refresh data base, please tell me about the action, thanks, bharat

That action happens when you add more files in it! At the first time after you have inserted new files, the player will be checking and creating the list of the files it has inside! Depending on how much data you have changed/added, this process can take up to 10 minutes!

I took all my old music off and now it wont hold my new music it tells me to refresh and free up space. and it says data base had to be repaired?

Try a reset to factory defaults, other then that I can't help as you need to specify the make and model of your MP3 device, a good habit to get into when posting online with any repair or technical issue.

Sansa e250 screen is stuck on refresh database

Press the "lock" button to where the Orange is showing. Then press the record button on the left side of the MP3 for a bit. Try this several times. I did it twice and it worked! M.P.
