Brother Intellifax 1820c fax machine: Won't print incoming transmissions

Brother service advisors said that there was dried ink in printer head. Error 41 is what keeps coming up when you try and run a test page. Is there a way to clean the printer head without taking to an authorized service center? There is no dried ink where the ink leaves the cartridge and enters into the cartridge holder.

I wish there was a way to recover them but there not and have tried most things. The only way to fix this is to replace the printhead with a new one.

After changing ink cartridge incoming faxes won't print. Does something have to be reset?

Some machines recognize you changed the ink cartridge and some do not. If you shut it down and restart it, this usually helps it reset.

Error 41 is showing up on the screen. says to contact brother. It's a intellifax 1820c.

Error 41 means there is a major problem with the printhead, usually
requires a print head replacement. My advice is to take it to a
Brother service centre while it is under warranty. If it's out of
warranty then it is cheaper to purchase a new, non Brother model. If you have been using non-Brother cartridges or refills, they can have too much water in them and it erodes the print head after a while. Usuall y just after warranty has expired!

Error 41 shows

Error 41 is a printhead failure. The only way to fix it to replace the printhead there unfortunately is no way to recover the printhead. If you decide to replace the printhead please do not leave the machine of for extended periods of time (causes the printhead to dry out as it can not do its cleaning cycles), use only genuine ink (I see a lot with this failure with non-genuine inks or refills) and do not cheat the ink system by running empty inks (Dries out the printhead). Just a few tips to extend the life of your printhead.

Light print of incoming faxes, cannot read

are copies light too? if not then it is sending fax, but most times it is inferior ink or drum causing the problem sometimes damp paper (try printing on reverse side as well)
