Long wash cycle

I believe that my dishwasher runs on the wash cycle for far too long...well over an hour. Can you tell me how long it should run and what I can do to possibly repair it myself.
Many thanks

I just got my dishwasher a few weeks ago. The normal wash cycle without using heated dry takes about one hour and forty minutes to complete.

We haven't done anything to try to resolve it, as we don't know what TO do, or even if this is normal for this product.

Brand new Whirlpool dishwasher. Wash cycle (on Light wash) runs over an hour and twenty minutes. Can this be shortened?

My whirlpool Queit Partner III runs for over 2 hours on normal cycle. That seems so long. How do we check or replace the timer module? Is that expensive? We'd like to try to fix it ourselves if possible/

Do you mean replace a part on my new dishwasher, or is there something you can adjust?

My whirlpool gold series dishwasher will not stop running through cycles unless i open the door. It will just continue to run for hours. Any relatively easy fixes before i call backup?

Some dishwashers can run for 4 hours or more normally depending on the options you choose. What do you mean by it runs through cycles is it always changing cycles by itself or is it just the cycle you pick just keeps on going, have you tried a quick wash or 1 hour wash does it do it then? is you hot water hot enough? if not it makes the unit run longer because it has to heat the water up. always run the hot water at the sink to bring hot water up from the water heater to the sing so the dishwasher fills with hot water and not cold.

Long running wash cycle for whirlpool quiet partner 2

Hi there
The quickest wash cycle is the "1 Hour Wash" and is 58 Minutes long, but if your incoming water is below 120 deg. F or 49 deg. C you are looking at approx. 1H20 min.

Frigidaire FDB520RHB Dishwashers : We bought this dishwasher about 3 months ago. Today I ran the washer before I left to do errands and when I returned, I believe the washer had finished its cycle. But...

Try to run the dishwasher on a short cycle like rinse and see if it finishes the cycle.

It is likely the heater or hot water temperature is not reaching the desired level and this could cause the extended wash cycle. Feel water temperature inside dishwasher after some time. If cold then it is the heater not working. Perhaps try without Heat Dry Cycle. That will also extend the cycle if heater is not working well.

see cycle diagrams in the page 2 of this sheet. Gives you and idea how Heater Delay affects cycle times.

possibilities are that of an inefficient heating element ie..scaled up if hard water area especially. whilst the cycle is being completed then the components are working... so other than the element check the drainage for blockages (slow draining adds time) & also water pressure as low pressure adds time to the filling..

When the washer gets to 1 in the cycle, it doesn't stop washing.

try running the test cycle or running delicate economy in that cycle it gets up to 150 degrees in the very first cycle let it run 15 or 20 min see if the water is screaming hot it is not and Luke warm it is not heating it is most likely a control board heaters very rarely go out

Dishwasher runs for 3 hours

You may be running the sani-wash or heated drying. The heat element in these things takes a long time.

Check these and turn them off - then try another wash cycle and time it to see - should be one hour or less

Runs forever! even on Normal wash...help !!

Check to make sure you heating element has not failed. Dishwashers of today heat the water periodically through out the cycle and if the element has failed. The heating delay light is the indicator that tells you that it is trying to heat the water.
