I don't know if it is a problem but when i plug in a mouse to my computer it doesn't detect it at all i don't know if something changed in the BIOS it has windows 98,2000 i had windows xp on it but it...

Dear macrocks22 :
If you are using a PS2 connection for your keyboard and mouse you will need to reboot windows for it to see them. Its just random how it sees them or not.
Any version of windows earlier than windows XP with second edition update will have problems with anything related to USB. Its just hit and a miss if you are trying to use USB connections with windows earlier than XP with SP2.

Hope it helps, if it does don't forget to give the thumbs up.

Blue screen when trying to boot windows

you have the "blue screen of death" i had this same problem and the easiest way to fix it is to take the hard drive out and put it into another computer back up all files you want to keep on it have a boot disk for the right windows operating system on it use the boot disk with it once it is back in the right computer and then put all the files you saved back on it. the blue screen of death occurs when there is a registry error on your computer. if the blue screen of death appears again then you need a new computer.

Usb ports no longer work...

Have you tried a restore to an earlier date, choose a date on which the ports were still active. Click start, click all programs, click accessories, click system tools, click system restore, choose restore my computer to an earlier time, select date. You can also roll back drivers by clicking start, click control panel, click system, click hardware, click devise manager, click on universal serial bus controllers, rt click on your usb port if it is there and choose update driver. Good luck.

Installing XP on HP m8120n

The Blue Screen of Death (also known as a stop error, BSOD, bluescreen, or Blue Screen of Doom) is an error screen displayed by some operating systems, most notably Microsoft Windows, after encountering a critical system error which can cause the system to shut down, to prevent damage.
Bluescreens on NT-based Windows systems can be caused by poorly written device drivers or malfunctioning hardware. In the Win9x era, incompatible DLLs or bugs in the kernel of the operating system could also cause bluescreens.
Bluescreens can also be caused by physical faults such as faulty memory, power supply issues, overheating of components, or hardware running beyond its specification limits. Bluescreens have been present in all Windows-based operating systems since Windows 3.1; earlier, OS/2 and MS-DOS suffered the Black Screen of Death, and early builds of Windows Vista displayed the Red Screen of Death after a boot loader error.

I hope it helps!!!

Two windows options

I believe you should select the top MICROSOFT XP HOME EDITION line as the newer versions of Windows "instances" are placed on top.
