System File Error on Phillips GoGear Vibe

My Phillips GoGear Vibe is saying ''system file error'' when I turn it on. It is preventing it from hooking up to the computer. Is there anything I can do? Is there anyway to do a manual format or something?

You should be able to put it into recovery mode by holding the volume up button while hooking it up to the computer after that you should be able to do a recovery on it using the software provided with the player

My mp3 turns on and it say file system error!!!! please tell me what i should do

I too had faced such problem while playing music on my computer, to rectify this we need to have media recovery tool like Media Recovery Software. So if you too need to restore such files then you can easily download it from internet.

Try to reformat it. It might be a virus or a bug.

File System Error

You'll need a computer with Windows XP... with the Philips GoGear Vibe Device Manager running, plug your player holding down the volume button "+"... Just wait and it will fix it automatically. ;)

When i hook my player up to the computer it say file system error

For sure, the file system is corrupted and is the cause of your woes. The fix lies with the Philips Songbird software. If you do not have Songbird, download it for Windows or Mac here: http://www.usa.philips.com/c/mp3-media-player/22126/cat/en/#/difference/philipssongbird.
Once you have Songbird installed, launch it and select "Repair my Philips device" in the Tools menu. Select your device and follow the instructions specific to your device. For example, instructions for the GoGear Vibe are to disconnect the device, power it down completely, and hold the volume-up key during and after USB connection until the message window disappears.

If the repair utility endlessly indicates it is checking for updates, you are likely using an out-of-date version of Songbird - probably the one that came with your GoGear. If this describes your situation, launch Songbird and select "Check for updates" in the Help menu. This will at least get you upgraded to version 1.9 (currently), even though the latest version is 1.11 (currently).

Instructions that came with some older versions for connecting GoGear in repair mode were incomplete. They left out a crucial step of turning off the GoGear and waiting for it to power down completely before reconnecting in repair mode. Newer versions of Songbird include the ability to reformat the device, reset the device, and to get progress updates during synchronization.

If you've found this information helpful, please indicate as such.

When i turn on my mp3 now it says file system error i used it last night it was fine please help me

The file system error problem cannot be corrected - you can run a Repair or an Update in the Philips Device Manager and you will see that it will be unsuccessful - call Philips and get an in-warranty replacement while you still can. The newer Philips players use Windows Explorer as the transfer method - it doesn't hide the system files, so if you delete a system file instead of a music file, you get the system file error. Sorry.

File System Error

Try formatting it using FAT32 or NTFS file system. I formatted my SA2840 and changed the file system from FAT32 to NTFS (what was I thinking!) and the ending of the story was pretty much the same.
