Question about Acme 5001 Supreme Juicerator Juice Extractor

1 Answer

Acme Juicer My juicer starts to rattle and shake and the top pops off after I have juiced a few carrots. It never used to do this before, it is a few years old however. I just bought a new blade and the part that holds the blade in place. What could be causing the juicer to get off balance?

Are both of the metal parts that you twist the top onto still sturdy? One of mine is broken, and I have to find a replacement part.

I began to experience this same problem after a few years of usage. It seems that the balance is thrown off when you try to push the vegetables thru too fast. Try a slower even motion when juicing. This allows teh pulp to cover the inside baske tmore evenly. Also make sur eyou are cleaning the basket well and exposing all the holes to allow juice to spin thru. As a last resort, just stop and clean out the bowl.

This is the nature of the juicer, it does not eject the pulp, and they go out of balance very
easily especially with a new blade installed. Only suggestion is juice only hard produce,
and feed it as evenly and as slowly as possible. I juice apples, carrots and celery.

When i juice greens i am no longer getting any juice from them. is my blade dull?

If you mean green leafy greens, the juicer is
not really designed for them. A sharp blade
will extract some juice from them, but I found
a new blade seems to increase the vibration
issue. Acme works best on carrots, apples,
celery, etc.

I juice mainly green vegetables: kale, spinach, etc, then carrots -and it doesn't have enough power, slows down and then stops - any idea why?

Sorry, but it's not designed for leafy vegetables.
Carrots, apples, celery-yes. For kale, spinach
try a inexpensive, hand powered, wheat grass
juicer. About $50.

Stuffed parsley into the juicer and the motor stopped

Push red reset button on bottom of juicer. The
juicer is not designed for leafy produce, only
apples, carrots, celery, etc.

Acme juicer vibrating so much.

I've had one for 21 years and when I replaced the blade the same thing happened.
The blade is not supposed to be held firmly in place so it can slip intentionally to
minimize vibration. If you bought the juicer new, think back, and I believe you will
remember the vibration problem. I seems with a worn blade they vibrate less. The
motor is very durable and uses roller bearings like on a skate board. I went back
to the old blade, which I sharpen with a drill using a small bit.

Shuts itself off when juicing

FIRST DUMP THE FILTERS, THEY DECREASE YIELD AND MAY CAUSE MORE VIBRATION.
IF JUICER SHUTS DOWN PUSH RESET BUTTON ON BOTTOM. THIS TYPE OF JUICER DOES
NOT EJECT PULP AND REQUIRES SOME TIME TO MASTER. FEED THE STUFF SLOW AND
STEADY. WANT A GOOD JUICE? TRY 1 APPLE, 2 CARROTS, 2 CELERY AND A HALF LEMON.
IF YOU ARE REALLY BRAVE YOU CAN FINISH OFF BY SLOWLY POURING 6 OR 8 OUNCERS
OF WATER RIGHT DOWN THE CHUTE. THIS NOT ONLY DILUTES BUT LEECHES MORE JUICE
OUT OF THE PULP. JUICE SHOULD BE DILUTED AND DRANK SLOWLY.

Pulp galore!

are you exceeding the capacity of the juicer? you will get about 2 and 1/2 large glasses of juice before the pulp fills the spinning basket. Apple peels are very tough, apples and tomatoes need to be peeled before juicing. Use the filters, the juice comes out much clearer and the juicer is easier to clean up. I so a lot of carrots, carrots are super food.
