Question about Frigidaire FRS26H5AS Side by Side Refrigerator
You may have a promblem with your despensor acuator being stuck remove your ice bucket and look in the back of the fridge where the steel rod goes in its like a square hole if you see a plastic bar about half way across it see if you can pull it down while the bucket is out and with the door open hold down the switch the one that dont turn off the light an push the dispessor switch while watching that hole go from crushed to cube and let me know what you see

Wow, thank you! I did what you said, pulled the white square plastic hole down and it works! I lived with only crushed ice for 3 months not wanting to spend money to have someone check it out and it was such an easy solution!

Pull out your ice bin. In the back of the bin you will see a rod protruding from one side. That rod goes into an opening in the rear of the freezer. There is a solenoid behind that opening that raises and lowers the arm on the ice bin giving you crushed or cubed ice. Check to see if that solenoid is froze up or if your rod got stuck under it. If all check ok then replace that solenoid.

could be that the ice maker arm is getting stuck or may have some frost on it. can you supply the complete model # please?

You have a solenoid switch which switches the dispenser back and forth from crushed to cube. It could be stuck or not working or the parts connecting it could be disconnected or broken. You will have to observe to see if any parts are moving and if any noise is coming from the solenoid
