Bought a Wii and using the standard cables it played great on a new 50' Panasonic Plasma as well as on our 2 year old 32' VIZIO LCD. Just upgraded to a 46' Sony LCD (W series) and the Wii looks terrible (fuzzy, blury). Called Wii and ordered the better cables, but does this sound like a problem with the TV inputs? Would a Plasma display a Wii game better than a LCD, or is their a setting I need to tweak on the Sony?

The Wii can display on a HDTV, but keep in mind the output is only 480p. It is not true high definition, and it will only display this using a component video cable. There shouldn't be a difference with LCD and plasma.

You will also need to go to the display settings to force the Wii to display in 480p.

Try a different input (safe to assume your Sony has multiple?) and see if it is that specific input. Also, try a different device like a DVD player or VCR and see if you get the same result.

Good luck.

Can I hook up a wii game system to my lg plasma tv ?

it depends on which cables you want to use for your wii. there is the standard A/V cables that are yellow, white, and red; or the component cables which are red, green and blue with another white and red.

For standard A/V connection: on back of TV use "A/V INPUT" (below "MONITOR OUT")
http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/wii/en_na/setupAV.jsp

For component connection:on back of TV use "COMPONENT INPUT 1" (or 2)
http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/wii/en_na/setupAV.jsp

hope this helps!

If you still have audio and video from component and RGB which means your sustainer boards (the boards on the two sides that powers up your screen) are working. All you have to do is replace the main board. you can buy parts at Vizparts.com, Vancebaldwin.com or shopjimmy.com. Make sure that you give them the correct model and serial number so they can send you the correct part.

What tv to buy

wouldn't buy a vizio if my life depended on it. Check out good name brands such as Sony, Panasonic, Hitachi, and Mitsubishi. no matter what you get its going to brake. I would recommend a 5year extended warranty with any new set you get these days. Also get LCD not plasma!
Let me know if you have more questions or if you have a certain model number you are looking at. With your price point in minde you most likley will need to look at a 42" in these brands. Dont think you will get anything bigger than that. Let me know!

Wii Delay on new Insignia TV

We just upgraded from a 32" LG tube tv to a 46" Insignia LCD and had the same problem with our Wii and PS3. For us, we just switched the TV settings DCM (digital clear motion) function. We keep it on high for movies and TV shows and turn it completely off when playing Wii and PS3 games. Hope this helps!!
