Whenever i open my command prompt it always shutdown and sometimes it restart. what is happening with my pc. i can't make a configuration

check all other system utilities like msconfig or regedit...if it does restart or shutdown then your system is infected with some kind of virus .....all you have to do is install mcafee 8.5i enterprise version and update it to latest dat file and scan your system thoroughly. this might remove your virus but now you have to fix all corrupted files by running system file checker. go to run type sfc/SCANNOW........this will start checking all corrpted files. for this you need a win xp reply back

NTLDR MSSING, how can i solve this?

NTLDR is short for NT loader – a program loaded from the hard drive boot sector that displays the Microsoft Windows NT startup menu and helps Microsoft Windows NT load. So when it goes missing for some reason, your windows cannot load.
1. Computer is booting from a non-bootable source.
2. Computer hard disk drive is not properly setup in BIOS.
3. Corrupt NTLDR and/or NTDETECT.COM file.
4. Misconfiguration with the boot.ini file.
5. Attempting to upgrade from a Windows 95, 98, or ME computer that is using FAT32.
6. New hard disk drive being added.
7. Corrupt boot sector / master boot record.
8. Seriously corrupted version of Windows 2000 or Windows XP.
9. Loose or Faulty IDE/EIDE hard disk drive cable.
if there is attached drive ,remove the drive first before restarting the system if not then if you had access to another computer, copy the NTLDR and NTDETECT.COM which is available from the recovery CD which comes with computer. If you do not have the recovery CD, its available on microsoft site or is available from another computer using the same Operating System (Windows XP ). The location may be C:\i386\ntldr C:\i386\ use a bootable disc to restart the computer (the Win XP bootable CD or Win 98 bootable CD worked). After entering MS DOS mode, copy these 2 files to the C drive in the proper location. After restart, then pressing F10 on start up (used for system recovery ), then start the repair of Windows via system recovery This will reinstalled all Windows drivers and system files, while preserving all data on your computer.

Laptop ntldr problem

When pc first starts, press the F2 key to open the pc cmos settings. Look around and find the boot list and ensure that the machine will boot on cd before hdd. Than boot on your OS cd and attempt to repair existing. This will at worse case reinstall your system.

How to install os

This is a little difficult but it can B done :) Firstly I dunno if ya need to re-format ya drive? perhaps first ya could try to "Repair" of Win98? If that doesn't work, then, perhaps ya may have to re-format. If the Win98 is on a SEPARATE drive or Partition this also makes a difference.... Basically ... repair/re-install win98, then do a repair of ya Boot menu for XP, as Win98 sets up an incorrect Boot up for XP, and thus must be "Fixed" so XP will boot & show a Dual boot menu.. here are some links to help you step by step...
