i have win XP N 98 IN MY SYSTEM,
but whenever i boot in the system,destop comes but
nothing seems to be open.i.e. i can see only desktop but \can not work

the reason i am posting this in the request information instead of solution is that you may not like this. and you may rate me as inaipiorate..
You have a duel boot system, eventually the MBR gets corrupted as its the problem you are now having. What you could try is doing a system restore to a previos date in one which it did work. If that fails i suggest you back up your data then format and reinstall the opertaing systems.

well doa msconfig ok boot in safe mode f8 to both and go to start run msconfig and cheak startup tab uncheak all that crap in ther ok then apply it hit ok reboot
