Can't install windows

If there is a boot menu you may have to load the CD drive from there and the restore disk will load. Check the boot screen when the PC is first turned on and look for restore option and which key to press. It is usually F10 or F11. If all else fails press F8 on start before the first boot screen vanishes and select the prompt option. then load the CD from there after you ID the drive letter.

My Emachine T5010 reboots on Windows loading screen.

Before windows loads press F8 on the keyboard to get an advanced menu.
choose the option that says disable automatic restart on error and see what error you get.
Also try the Safe Mode option.
That click sounds like the harddrive is failing.

Wont load passed windows xp screen

Try holding down the "F-8" key when the emachines logo appears, see if you get a prompt for "safe mode". If you can get the system up and running in safe mode, shut it back down from the start menu. That should rewrite the boot sector and may clear the problem.

Tried to do a restore with restore disc that came with the comput

There seems to be a problem with the operating system that is being installed. This often happens if you use the restore disks that came from another computer.

Are you sure that you used the disks that came with that exact computer? Does it flash a blue screen right before restarting the cycle?

Try the restore over again and if the problem persists, you may have to either order new restore disks for your computer or buy a fresh copy of Windows XP.

Black screen and blinking underscore before loading OS

chipset drivers that are loaded onto the harddrive are not the same as the ones in the "new" computer you put it into.

The only way to do that is format the drive and start from vanilla.

This is very common. -Jeff

Restore computer

Before doing anything start your PC and keep pressing F8 slowly. A screen will appear with options choose Last Known Good Configuration to see if it cures your problem.
