Make sure that the heater is mounted where convection currents occur freely. When heat builds up around the top of the heater its temperature will rise uncontrollably. You'll be luck not to get a fire.

Purepro thermostat

There is a tab at the bottom that you press in or up. It releases the plastic clip. Pull the bottom of the case toward you. It will pivot on the plastic clips at the top of the wall mount. Then just lift up to unhook from the top of the wall mount.

I'm not sure if this is a heat pump or an electric heat unit. If it's a heat pump, it may be low on charge and cycling the low pressure switch. If it's an electric heater it could be limit switches tripping it because of a closed, blocked or improperly mounted discharge flu. It just may be a bird's nest that's blocking it.

Lower thetermostatv temprature to 66. it's set to 77 right now and doesn't go lower

Question is not clear.
Add a comment and say what you want to do.

You have 240Volt electric water heater.
Lower thermostat is set as low as it can go at 77.
But you want water temperature set to 66?
First thing to remember is that water heater thermostat settings are approximate since they read temperatures through the steel tank wall.
Second thing is that thermostats for electric water heater are generic, and are not made for lower temperature range settings. This is probably since most people complain that water is not hot enough.
I'm looking at a generic lower thermostat from Lowes right now. The low temperature setting is 90 degrees F.
Looking at some older thermostats from a drawer right now: one does not have a lower temperature mark, the other is a Reliance with low temp of 95, the old craftmaster goes down to 80.
So I don't even have a thermostat that goes as low as the one you have, except for gas water heater thermostats that traditionally can be set to 50 degrees for vacation mode to prevent freezing.
More thermostats can be seen on following link:

This electric baseboard heater will be wallr mounted. Must it be raised and mounted above the floor or can it be set on the floor? Thanks, Mel

Mel, if you wave wall to wall carpeting, it should be about 1 1/2" off the carpeting. If you have hardwood floors 1/2" will suffice.

Hope this helped you.

Only the low setting works for a little while. heat stops but fans will still run.If i turn up higher nothing, not even the fan. Heater has been cleaned and has a new thermostat swicth. Any help wuold be...

Two things come to mind here, one is the over heat protection is tripped and preventing the element from coming on, second is a bad high heat element. You can ring these out with a volt ohm meter and check both, the element if good rings out as a dead short, the over heat protection should be normally closed which means it to rings out as dead short. If it rings out open then it is tripped. some of these can be reset and most only need to be replaced. So check these items out and good luck.

Dryer doing nothing

The fuse mounts on side of the heater. Its little clip is held to the side of the heater chamber by the same screw which holds the heater element down. It has 2 white wires going to it. Clean out the dryer and check for blocked vent and loose blower wheel. good luck Kimosabe. To access the heater pop the top:

Williams wall non-elec gas heater. Black copper wire tagged thermostat?

First make sure this is a heater set up for a remote mounted thermostat. If so, the gas valve has 3 screws labeled TH (thermostat) and TP (thermopile) that's the flame sensor with 2 wires coming off it, I don't know where the goofy name comes from. there will be one screw that has both, usually the top one. Wire accordingly. The new valves have a solenoid on the bottom. this connects to the high temp. sensor up top. It has 2 wires on it, one connects to the thermostat wire, the other goes to the screw with TH and TP. Or you can skip it and connect the wire from the back of the valve to the Th and TP screw. Make sure the thermostat wires aren't pinched somewhere, thus eliminating the thermostats control.

Most base board heaters installation instructions say to attach to the wall with screws which are slack ( not fully tightened) in order to allow the heater case to expand and contract otherwise you get a clicking noise
