Question about D-Link DE 853 (DE-853) Transceiver

HP3000 MPE/iX 4.0 migration

I have an HP-3000 series 935. The DTC is an HP
2345A. The transciever is an HP ThinMAU 28641A. I am looking for the
solution (hardware and software) that will allow me to connect the
3000 into a 10BaseT network and access/migrate all of it's data
into my MS Windows server environment. Basically, we are trying
to get rid of the old HP-3000. SHOWME displays the following: MPE/iX HP31900 B.30.45
User Version: B.40.00
I was told by one person that this might not be possible due to the MPE/iX version. Another person told me that it could be done using the DE 853 transceiver. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

How to reset the Password n 3510-24T Nortel switch

Hi Try the following - it should go back to factory default settings

There can be times when you need to factory reset a switch. This process can be accomplished through the CLI but if you've lost the switch password you'll need to follow a special process. This process should work for any of the Ethernet Switches (450, 460, 470) and the Ethernet Routing Switches 2500 Series, 4500 Series, 5500 (5510, 5520, 5530) Series. There is a different process to recover lost passwords on the Ethernet Routing Switch 1600 and 8600. Please note that by factory resetting the switch you will loose all configuration settings. It will be as if it just arrived from the "factory".

Follow these steps:

1. Connect to the console port of the switch (9600,8,N,1)

2. Reboot the switch.

3. When the first line of the diagnostics tests is displayed, press CTRL-C. The system then displays a menu.

4. Select option "i" to factory default the switch.

5. Select option "a" to run the agent code.
Upon boot up, the switch will be in a factory default configuration

Bought the converter box for my tv ,... only get 2 plus channels

Yes, make sure you get that antenna up as high as you can with masts. Some places will offer installation when you purchase the antenna set up (although it usually is pricey), I know RadioShack will. I might suggest instead of getting a professional installer, post an add on, college kids will do nearly anything for a 24 pack of beer or a few dollars for gas!! :-) Good luck!

Canary CFT-2062 connection diagram

I tried to answer this for you yesterday but FixYa didn't put it through I guess. I'll try again.

That device is a "Industrial Media Converter". It is for converting a 100BASE-TX LAN cable into a 100BASE-F fiber optic cable for long-range networking. (2km) There are two ways to use it.

Get two and convert LAN to fiber, then back to LAN.

Use it to tap into an existing fiber network, like fiber optic Internet.

For the first case; you will need some "Duplex" "multi-mode" fiber optic cable ($1.10 a meter) and an other one of those devices ($50~$300).

For the second case you will also need some fiber optic cable and you will need a network to tap in to. Of course you will need to clear everything with the company that owns that network before you can do any thing. And that’s assuming that they even use the same system level protocols.

To directly answer your question:

1: Hook the 100BASE-TX LAN port up to a PC, Hub, or a switch.

2: Hook up TWO multi-mode fiber optic cables to the device using CT style connecters. Hook one to the TX and one to the RX connectors on the unit.

3: Run the cable how you see fit.

4: Hook the other end up to the interfacing device. Be it joining it to an other cable in an existing network, or to another of those devices.

Note: The TX cable of one device goes to the RX of the other and visa-versa.

P.S. I also have one exactly like that one that I’m trying to find a use for.
