Re: masterbilt mpm-48

Hi Annie
it is possible that your masterbuilt is ok but your power system is failing. The circuit breaker may be too small to do the job and is there any other appliances connected to that circuit breaker
try turning off the c/breaker see what else is not going then isolate the appliances bit by bit
maybe you need to call your sparky the check the current draw on fridge and the rest of circuit

The freezer is keeping some stuff frozen, but ice cream melts right away. It seems that its cold, but not as cold as it should be?

Check and clean all around the outside, particularly underneath to ensure condenser clear. check fans running and compressor pumping.

Jenn-Air refrigerator, top freezer, older model, frost-free. Ice has started forming on the "ledge" at the back wall where the lowest shelf rests. Then the ice melts and water pools at the...

There is probably a little sediment in the ice maker shut off valve. It's electrically operated whenever the icemaker starts a new batch.
You can try cleaning the valve, but it's typically not worth the trouble. I'd just install a new one. It's easy, typically just a couple screws, an electrical connection and the water connection. To prevent it from happening again, add an in-line filter BEFORE the ice maker.

I have a bottom freezer model that also freezes on top! I've cleaned the coils underneath (and it was pretty bad), and that seemed to work for about a week, but now the unit seems to run alot even though...

cleaning the coils is always a good idea, that's how the unit disipates the heat it pumps from the inside of the box. clean coils make it work more efficiently. Frosty suggests a door gasket leak, allowing fresh, moisture ladden air in, that turns to frost. Runs all the time- check door gaskets. they are replaceable. Could also be a bad thermostat. thermostat is running the fridge, trying to reach the set temperature but won't shut off when it reaches it. Unplug the fridge or shut off the breaker is easier. (good wiring practice mandates a dedicated circuit for refrigerators). change the thermostat.

Does the model cool by allowing cold air from the freezer into the refrigerator or does it have separate cooling equipment like some sub zero's? Is there something blocking air flow from the freezer to the refrigerator?

Good day,
24 to 48 hours would be a normal time to wait for proper cycling.
Important thru this time period to avoid haunting the machine by opening the doors a lot. That will just drag out the time.

Jenn-Aire Refrigerator Shutting Down

sounds as if the control board has gone bad unless you have an extended warranty that you purchased extra this will probably not be covered, but check with jenn-aire to be sure. I dont think I would worry about a 3rd compressor being bad but I would unplug the unit to prevent any further damage to it. good luck peyton
