You haven't given a make & model, but on most Sony Head Units, the two wires you mentioned are both O/P's One is for switching an External Amp & the other is for an Electric antenna. Therefore not always needed to be connected,

But is is easy to damage the internal regulator if you connect these wrong!

NEED WIRING DIAGRAM

If you are referring to installation and have the aftermarket wiring harness, The wires should be color coded. RED, YELLOW, & BLACK are power, ignition and ground. These should correspond to matching wires on the back of the head unit (CD player). Match the colored wires from the back of the unit to the same colored wires on the aftermarket harness and then connect them using wire connectors/wire nuts. Once you have them into the correct order the aftermarket harness should connect into the harness in your vehicle. I hope this answers your question =)

I have 2 amps instalkled in my car one is sony 1200w 2 channel amp for speakers and one is solid audio f2500d for 3 subs my sound and every thing was good but suddenly from yesterday im having trouble when...

First disconnect the CD head unit from the sub amp and see if the other amp works. If yes, the problem is the wires to the amp, the amp itself, or the subs/sub wiring. If no, the problem is the head unit--probably an internal short.
If the other amp works with the sub amp disconnected, reconnect the sub amp to the head unit, but disconnect the sub wires from the amp. Try the CD player. If the amp goes to protect with no speaker wires attached, the amp is bad. If the amp is OK, the problem is the subs or sub wires. Hook the wires up to the amp again, but disconnect them from the speakers. Try the player again. If the amp goes to protect, the problem is the amp wiring. If not, the problem is the subs. Check the impedance of each sub using an ohmmeter to determine which amp is out of spec.
Please let me know if you have questions, and thanks for using Fixya.

What is the name of the plug and wire connections of a car cd player called, which is found at the back of the unit which connects to the speakers

Its called a harness. You have to get one that match your vehicles harness and since the wires are color coded, connections will be easy just remember if your spare wires are dimmer neg. and pos. dont wired them together, cover them with electric tape individually so it wont short the head unit.

Pioneer DEH-P6500 head unit doesnt turn on

Check your radio fuse. It is likely if you didn't disconnect your battery terminal that you may have blown a fuse.
About the speaker distortion, you may need to install filters to each speaker. They are not very expensive and can be found at just about any electronics store.

I have a 1998 Pioneer head unit to put in my car. the #is 1256237179. Is There anyway to get a diagram to see how to hook it up?

Hi there,

Well you can please follow the below steps -
1. Disconnect your car battery. It is vitally important to your safety that you never work on any type of electronic in your car with the battery still connected, as this puts you at risk for electrocution.
2. Remove the old stereo by taking off all the dashboard panels surrounding your stereo, sliding out your old stereo head unit, and unplugging all the wires that are connected to the head unit. Discard the old stereo.
3. Take your Pioneer car stereo head unit and plug each of the positive wires from your car speakers to the positive terminals on the head unit. Take all of the negative speaker wires and connect them to the negative terminals on the head unit.
4. Attach the stereo's black ground wire to a metal bolt or screw located near where the stereo is mounted in the dash.
5. Connect all of the ignition power wires to your Pioneer stereo.
6. Take the harness connector and plug it into your car stereo. Now plug the antenna into the back of your head unit.
7. Slide the stereo back into the dash, screw it in place, and replace the dashboard pieces you removed earlier.
8. Reconnect your car battery, turn the car on and test out your new Pioneer car stereo. Please post comments for more help or information..........

Good Luck!!

Thanks

Im not getting any power to the stereo after connecting all wires.

ok i dont no if its a stock one or a cd player so ill tell you wat i no

if its a stock one check all your fuses and on the back of the head unit and the radio fuse

if its a cd player there will be a fuse on the back of the unit also

remeber red (positive ignition) and yellow memory constant power it wont turn on unless yellow is hooked up
black ground

another way to do it is have red and yellow joined straight to the battery with a fuse but u will have to turn the unit off by your self instead of turning the key if u need more assitence tell me more of the car and how u have done it so far and if ur using a wiring loom that was with the car
