Re: No sound or add and remove programme

Go to Start, Program, Accessories, System Tools, and select System Restore. Choose a date you know when you had sound and your Add/Remove Programs showed up in the Control Panel. If restoring your computer to a earlier date the first time try several dates. Finally if none of the dates work, than you will probable have to reformat your computer.

Can your soundcards get deleted of computers

Yes, one can use "Add/Remove Programs" or "Add New Hardware" to remove the device-drivers, and to tell Windows to stop recognizing the sound-card.

Whenever i installed yhe realtek sound driver its showing error

uninstall first the previous one from the settings, control panel, add remove programs, then remove realtek driver from it. after removing, install a fresh copy of realtek sound driver that is goes with the soundcard. It should be its own sound driver. be aware of the version of it.

Sound stills and video breaks

I can not find a website that supports this product but you can buy it new for $11.00 now. I would suggest that you purchase a new Vista compatable PCI soundcard like soundblaster, for example. They are even available at walmart but you might find a really good deal on one on the internet  from like  I am guessing that their is no VISTA driver for this old soundcard and that might be why all the trouble that you are having .   As far as speeding up your computer, Add RAM is the commmon answer but do a search on turning off services on VISTA. That wil help a lot they say.

No sound on my computer

Go back to the Control Panel, click on Add or Remove Programs, look for 'Add/Remove Windows Components' and check if the media player is checked.

Most sound cards and on-board sound chips have their own software but the Media Player will suffice.

If it is checked, go to 'System' (in the Control Panel), then click on the Hardware tab, then Device Manager.

Go down the list to see if Sound, video and game controllers has a red 'X' showing.
If it does, then either the driver is damaged or the hardware itself has failed.
If it is only the driver, you can delete the exed item and try rebooting to see if Windows restores it.

If that doesn't work, the you may have a system board problem (expensive).

Let me know how you do-

Sound card

Hi Zigma,

Some internet applications needs video and or sound stream controls needed some file to run or view. In this case, you can hardly tell what downloaded programs you have installed that overrides the default installed drivers. In some case upon uninstalling some program it will ask "are you share to remove the shared file xx.xx?" Now to regain back the sound card driver you had. You must check the sound card driver at control panel sound settings property. Remove it or update the driver you will need to. Note: check if any the soundcard driver file properties has an error marked. This helps you determine the drivers fault or conflicts.

Best regards,
Rosener Guyano
