Nuvi 350 I got it from someone else, already used, it does not connect with the GPS or the antenna. Is the antenna in it or in another car?

  • Anonymous May 11, 2010

Your problem is that it is not set to the right port and baud rate C320 using COM2 and a baudrate of 57600. Once this is set the gps will not report Antenna or GPS not connected. The antenna is built in. Please rate my help++++Thanks for using FIXYA

The antenna is on the back of the unit. it needs to be flipped up in order for live gps tracking to work. when it is flipped down, it will only work in simulated mode.

My garmin 350nuvi will not acquire sattelites

Make sure to flip your antenna horizontally or 90 degrees and not vertically or 180 dgrees. I see to many people try to use their older nuvi this way and it does not function well.
Try also updating your unit with the latest firmware from Garmin, this helps sometimes.
You may have moved to a location that is far away from the last location your Garmin nuvi 350 was last use, try to keep your unit on for 30 minutes or more to see if it will acquire GPS sattelites.
Last, certain vehicles have shielded windshields and GPS does not work well with these windshield, this can be eaisly verify by simply taking your nuvi 350 out of your vehicle and turn it on with a clear view to the sky, if that still does not work, it could be a defective GPS receiver or GPS connection in which case you should consider sending it in to Auto Nav 2000 Plus, Inc in San Jose CA or Garmin.
You may also consider replacing your nuvi 350 with a newer model nuvi with fresher map.

Good luck

Garmin just went blank someone said you have to re-boot but I don't know how

Try pushing the reset button on the back of your Nuvi 350 - right under the antenna when antenna is in up position.

I have a garmin nuvi 350. It suddenly quit. It would not power up. I bought new car charger and wall charger specifically for nuvi 350. Both charger would not power up the gps at all. Is my battery dead or...

I would say this is not a battery problem. A Nuvi will power up even with the internal battery disconnect (done it many times myself ) when connected to an external power source. Please see this link about Dead Nuvi's. Have you tried pressing the reset button behind the antenna?

No connection to satellite

Please read the solution that resolved this problem for someone else. Most likely, you have already tried this.

If the above procedure does not work for you, the entire antenna assembly will need to be replaced.
The other option is to purchase an external antenna for your Nuvi and plug it into the external antenna port (gold connector) on the Nuvi antenna assembly.

Gps garmin nuvi 660

Please read the solution that resolved this problem for someone else. Most likely, you have already tried this. However, the antenna of your Nuvi 660 is the same as the 3xx Nuvi series. I know this because I have worked on them.

Garmin Nuvi 360 - Acquiring Satellites

Did you check to make sure that it is not in demo mode?
I've seen complaints that the unit is not working, and it was in demo mode.

If everything is set up properly and it still does not work, you will most likely have to send it to Garmin in the US.

Garmin Nuvi 350

All you need is to reset the GPS. THere is a small button under the antenna. Simply press the button, and everything would be reset.
