Re: cannot connect

It sounds like your router might not have a valid IP address from your ISP. Give this a shot:

  1. Unplug the power cable from the modem.
  2. Open a Web Browser
  3. In the address bar type
  4. Click on Connection Type in the left hand column under Internet WAN heading
  5. Enter your password if any and click Submit
  6. Click on Dynamic and then click on Next
  7. Type in your Hostname if required.
  8. Click on Apply Changes
  9. Plug the power cable back into the cable modem.
  10. Click on the Home link at the top of the screen
  11. It should now show Connected under the Internet Status column

You must login to the router and setup the wireless. Make sure you turn the WIFI broadcast on (enable it) so you can actually have wifi signal.

Cant connect belkin 54g router to internet

If you connect the computer directly to the modem, does it work?
If that works then the modem is working.
Now connect the computer to the router and the modem to the router.
You will need to open the set up page of the router to check the settings of the router.
You can set up the router without the CD also.
It is very easy.

Grandmothers laptop shows good signal and connection but wont let her on internet, using a belkin router. Brought laptop to my house and runs like a champ. Is it the router?

Yup. You may have a good wireless connection TO the ROUTER, but the router itself may have some trouble connecting to the internet.
Check the router management page, check DSL or cable status.
Ping to just to check if it is DNS problem
hope this helps. cya

Would a neighbors linksys router interfere with my belkin connection?

do check the signal strength of the wireless can improve signal by removing any big objects between the compu and the router/access point and/or re positioning the router.also intervening walls will affect signal..the fact that you are getting a linksys signal impilies that your home network signal is weak..hope it helps!

Belkin Mimo Router

If you're connected to the router with excellent stregth then the problem most likly lies in the routers connection to the internet. Check your DSL, Cable modem and make sure the connection to the "Internet" port on your router is good. Try switching out the Ethernet cable if nessciary.
