I have an ABS laptop. I have gone into control

I have an ABS laptop. I have gone into control panel and system and it says everything is running fine. I have also held down the fn key and pushed the f8 key, no sound. Have checked all my volume controls too. Any other suggestions?

First make sure nothing is muted.
Start>Control Panel > Sounds and Audio Devices

If nothing is muted, and your volumes are up and still no sound, try updating your audio drivers,

Start>Control Panel > System > Hardware > Device Manager > Sound Video and Game Controllers

Right click your audio drive and select Update driver.

Car runs very poorly until ABS light comes on. Then it runs flawlessly. Light off again, and it runs poorly. No error codes in either case.

The ABS light should only switch on when a fault is recognised and while it isn't impossible the system should reset itself when or if the fault cures itself, I see no immediate reason why it should affect the way the engine runs.

When the ABS light is on the system has switched itself off and any influence it has over the engine is also switched off. In the later fully computerised vehicles the ABS system does share information with the engine management system and even if the vehicle doesn't have such things as traction control or electronic stability control, the capacity for these and the software is often already in the ABS control module and if the system has gone rogue I think it could adversely affect the engine.

The absence of fault codes could be a clue - an electronic control unit can sometimes tell lies or hide the truth when it is failing. The answer you seek could be in the live data and that will need a good scanner with dealer level software and connected to the vehicle while the fault is happening and an experienced operator to decipher what is happening.

An alternative could be a data recorder, a device that is plugged into the car's obd socket for a day, a week or a month that will record what is happening and the results can be analysed later.

How to shut the traction control lite off on a 1992 Cadillac deville

traction control is governed by the ABS system computer module.
So if you are getting indicator on the instrument panel, one or more of the ABS sensors has gone faulty -- replace it once you find out which one it is. But check all the wiring from the ABS sensore first.

The laptop wont pick up sound

What operating system are you running? Have you gone into the sound settings in control panel to ensure that the integrated microphone is selected as the default recording device and is also unmuted?

What if the traction control and anti lock break system light is on

You most likely have a problem with one of the wheel speed sensors, the related wiring, or the ABS system itself. The traction control and ABS system both work together and rely on the same input information to work. A fault in the ABS system will cause both the ABS and TRAC control lights to illuminate and both systems will be disabled until the fault is gone. I would have a good service facility or dealer look at this one. One quick check you can do is to make certain that the brake fluid master cylinder is properly filled with brake fluid because if it is low enough it can also cause the systems to be disabled.

ABS light is constantly on this happened after I went through some snow I had also the (((!))) sign flashing, but now it is gone Golf 4, 1.4 16V 1999 Please advise. Thank you so much

that sign is your traction controll kicking in trying to keep the car under controll by applying the brakes to the tire that is spinning it can engage the ABS too your ABS controller is more than likely damaged and needs replaced it is a common problem with VW ABS systems.

I have a 99 Discovery II and the Traction Control, Hill Descent Control and ABS lights have suddenly come on. What is the system fault or, in the alternative, how can they be reset?

Can't be reset if your ABS system or some component is faulty. check speed sensor on the wheel bearing, is there any rubbing or dull grinding noise coming from the front wheels? could be the entire bearing and speed sensor assembly has gone bad. this would cause all these faults to appear as that sensor triggers all these events in order to slow your vehicle while it downshifts itself and applies breaking to control the vehicle as a part of the stabilization system. The alternative is that the ABS system is not functioning properly and the trac control and hill decent systems are being deactivated as part of the fault. If the system cant apply breaking then the systems are rendered unavailable. the vehicle will stop but not using ABS just regular breaks. Check all ABS break fuses for damage.

Trac off, VSC trac and ABS signal went on while I was driving and won't turn off

Chances are, you have a traction control system that is ABS-controlled, like most vehicles. (The other is transmission-controlled.) For this to occur, an ABS sensor may have gone bad. This will cause those lights to come on and for the ABS/trac system to basically shut down.

You also may want to check the ABS fuse to be sure it isn't something easy (and cheap) like that, which might be at fault.

I hope this helps! :)

go to control panel. using classic view, choose sound and audio device. from the dialog check whether the system speaker it in mute state. If its not in mute state. There is another option, u restore ur system back . click start, run, type restore in the space, enter, double click on the restore icon, it wil open the restoring points you have on your system. choose the date that u know that all the drivers are working well, then ok. Your system will restart. Thats all very simple.

2002 Suburban 1500 - ABS Light On

No doubt the control module is out, and it continue to operate when the ignition key is off due to a circuit fault. You can disable it easily by pulling the 60 amp fuse in the under hood fuse box (it is listed on the panel as ABS). Note that this disables the ABS braking feature and traction control, so be very careful when driving. The part can be purchased on the GM global parts site, about $600-$700 for the module. This will be the second time this has gone out for me and GM is not sympathetic, rather "pathetic", for a part to fail so often.
