Question about JVC HD-52Z575 52" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television

Vertical lines problem

I've owned a JVC HD-52Z575 for about 2.5 years, and in the past year I experienced the following problem: When I power on the TV, thin vertical light-blue lines (about 2mm in width) appear across the whole screen uniformly separated by about 3cm (1.25 inches). When the problem first occurred about a year ago, the lines disappeared after about 5-10 minutes or so. Now it takes much longer for the lines to disappear - maybe closer to 1/2 hour or 45 minutes. The lines tend to disappear more quickly when the TV has been used more recently. Is this a salvageable problem with a proper part replacement? I had a repair technician look at the TV last year when the problem first occurred and he didn't seem to know what to do, and claimed the cost for repairs would be more than the cost of a new TV. Any help would be appreciated.

My ten year old sony plasma tv has vertical herring bone lines no picture just color lines. Is my picture tube gone.

If its 10 years old boards and or parts will likely not be available--average life on Plasma and LCD sets is 3-5 years.

I would retire it--recycle it and buy a new set.

Hi..pls..help..my jvc television, im watching then turn off have a power but sadly it has a line at the middle of monitor and turn off.

You have a vertical amplifier failure or dry solder on the vertical IC. When cold if the TV works for some time and then you are getting a thin white line in the middle of the screen after some time -- its a dry solder problem. The vertical IC runs very hot in the TV and develops dry solder after a few years. Will run when cold and switch off when hot.
Are you well versed with electronics to do the repair yourself ?. If so, revert back and I will guide you if you mention the TV model #.

The faint white lines at the top of the screen is the warning that the pump-up capacitor in the vertical output circuit is going bad and the output itself is about to short out. When the TV stops working, the vertical output IC has finally shorted out. Replacing the vertical output IC, the pump-up capacitor and possibly a small value resistor next to the flyback (B+ for the v-out) should bring the set back to life.

Note
In some cases, there are minor defects in some parts of the screen. Points that do not light, points with
brightness different from that of the periphery, or points with color different from that of the periphery.
Some pixels will always be on or always off. Please note that this is not a malfunction. So what this says is that it's not the Plasma Cell problem, its more like a bad board inside. You will need more info like schematic and find out which area the bad part is in.

We also have vertical lines with our JVC 62"... turning it off and letting it cool down is the only solution. For us, we know it's a problem with heat. We simply are wits end on fixing it. added two additional fans, a exterior fan to blow heat away from the back of the tv, pulled everything else away, etc.... Anyway, goodluck.
