Ip 3000 mechanism error

My printer keep on saying that a mechanism error has occurred and asked  me to turn it of and wait a few moment than turn it on, but still it keeps on sending the same error that something isn't right with the mechanism. It hasn't work for a couple of months, but still I think it should. So could you let me know  how to fix this problem and have it run again.
thanks  Romeo

Error Code: E100 0000

Error code E#100, ERR 100 or E100-0000 is a laser scanner unit error.
Solution 1:
Turn off the printer, wait 10 minutes, and then turn it on again.
Solution 2:
Flip open the top of the printer.
Look for a small shutter that holds the laser: carefully force this open with your hands and force the laser out into the center of the tracking cradle.
After you move the laser, unplug the printer for a few minutes.
Plug the printer back in.
Solution 3:
If the same error occurs, it's necessary to contact a service representative.

Dear Victor, I saw an answer of yours on this site and thought you sound like the person to ask about my Canon printer. Firstly, thank you for taking the time to read about this, and thank you...

Inkjet printers need to be used frequently to prevent inkdrying out in the print head nozzles.
If the print head cleaning maintenance routine does not clear the blockages, then print head needs replacing, but it may be expensive.
It may be more cost effective to buy a later model and better printer thanreplace the print head.

I have a Canon 4300. It says "Error Number : 5100

Turn off printer.
Remove both the cartridges from the printer. Use a clothe moistened with alcohol to clean the surface contact on the cartridges where the terminals inside the printers touches.
Return the cartridges and turn on the printer.

Error 5100 means that the cartridge can not be detected by the printer.

Hope it helps!

When I try to print I get the following message: "Error Number: 5100 A Problem has occurred with the printer mechanism. Cancel printing and turn off the printer. Wait a few moments, then turn the power...

Did you follow the "cancel...." instructions?
Did the problem persist?
Did you contact your local CANON office, and ask for the location of the nearest authorized CANON Service Centre?
If so, what did they say?
Is your printer still under warranty?
Have you exercised the warranty, to get it repaired/replaced?

Unplug printer power supply from wall or powerstrip. Wait 10 minutes then plug in power supply and turn on printer and try again. If problem persists and it is under warranty contact Canon for repair. Otherwise it might be time to buy a new one.

I have installed cannon pixma ip 2600 on my vista and it will not print says an error occured

Some time ago I helped I friend with a simular problem, a Canon printer and Windows Vista. An error message came up when trying to install the printer driver. I looked through the windows register using regedit.exe and deleted all occurancies of Canon. (Be careful when doing this) . After doing so I restarted the PC, downloaded a fresh driver (by saving it to disk), doubleclicked to unpack it and finally installed. This might help you. Good luck!

Printer malfunction

Error 6A00
The 6A00 is a Canon generic code for paper path jam.

Solution 1:
Move the printhead carriage back and forth a few times.

Solution 2:
Check the purge unit: Moving the print head assembly will not clear a purge unit if its jammed with paper, paper clips, push pins, screws, cookie crisp, flower bud pods or the like.

Solution 3:
Press the ink pads down in the purge unit.

Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

Just not working

the printer is telling you the truth. when that happens, it's like a car starting to squeak too much. Mechanisms do wear out, you know.

got backup for your computer?
