How do i replace a thermostat

Im not very impressed with my 3 yr old belling xou492

last year the heater element was replaced (just outside of guarentee period) and now 11 months later the main oven wont get hot enough/stay hot.

its not the heating element/ring so i bought a thermostat - but i dont know how to change it!! there appears to be too much disassembly from within the oven that i think it may be replaced by removing the oven from the unit ive got it built into and changing the stat from the rear of the appliance....

any help/advise appreciated!!!

SOURCE: Belling built in fan oven (XOU60FP)is overheating

Have same problem, I am repairing our 648HM double oven. Top oven overheats. I am an electronics engineer. I found that top oven fan has failed, this is the first thing to replace. The grill element also failed which maybe due to the overheating oven. NIGEL

Yes this is a frequent problem with thermostats. The thermostat is an electric switch which from overheat and long time use they malfunction and you need to replace it.

How do I change the oven element on a belling format 800 oven

1, If your Belling fan motor in the back of the oven is going round and the temperature light is on (normally little red light), but there is no heat then you will probably need a new oven element, these are generally very easy to fit and readily available from our website these can be tested with a electric meter. To gain access to the BELLING element you will have to remove the back plate from inside the oven. Once removed you will see the fan and element, if you look closely at the element you will probably see a small hole burnt in it where it has blown. Sometimes however there is no evidence of a fault but the element is open circuit ie: broken inside the element casing, either way it will need replacing. Some elements will are fixed from inside the oven and some are held in place by nuts from the rear of the machine.

No fan or heat

Hello..... have you (a) checked that you have power going to the oven...(b)...With the power to the oven switched off open the terminal block (where the cable from your socket enters the oven) check that all connections are secure....(c) remove the rear panel of the oven and check that the safety stat is ok.......(usually small square white or gray unit wit two wires running to it found on rear of main is usually fixed to a bracket or directly fixed to the cabinet...test for continuity with a multimeter if open circuit ..that is no meter reading relpace it
