SAMSUNG DLP BUZZ ONLY WHENBULB IS ON

I have taken the back off of my Samsung50" 720p. i have heard a loud buzzing sound behind the tv for a while. I pulleed off the backing to see if I would find where the noise was coming from... Well i found one plastic fan on the back of the buld. once the tv is barely turned on i have no noise... "the noise would be like a football card in the spoke. The only time i hear this is when the lamp comes on it starts making that buzzing sound. I can stop the plastic fan and again nothing. i have a fairlry good grasp on how to replace the bulb.. I really just wanted to ask if this may be the next decision.. Or if someone else had another i idea? please help me with this my wife will kill me if she doesn't get some sleep .ohhh yeah my DLP is only 4yrs old... please call tom 817-691-2380 or tbaty2002@yahooo.com

A friend of mine does warranty work for samsung ,name is chip call him if you need too! 256-778-0300, most of the time when lamp needs replacing set will not play, the fan behind lamp is there to keep lamp cool when playing ,DO NOT touch lamp if you do this will leave fringer print and lamp will burn your inprint on it when hot!!! then you will have to replace lamp ,they are not cheap.replacing lamp is fairly easy, besides i really dont think lamp is your problem, most likely it would be fan making noise.

In some cases the buzz is external. The vibration of the unit may just cause a tray, flat surface, or other surrounding attachments to rattle and buzz. Look for anything that may be loose or laying on or about the TV.

Hello.
It looks like you ignored lamp replacement in your TV. It have to be replaced every 2.5 years of average use. It's like oil change in a car. Regular scheduled service.
You can read info about lamp replacement in your TV owner's manual, buy lamp on-line and replace it by yourself to save some money.
Regards.
Russ.

A buzzing noise coming from inside the tv but still buzzes when on mute but doesnt buzz when tv guide is up on the screen or when a channel is showing what time it starts

plasma tvs buzz a lot, depending on screen brightness. its probably normal but if you can hear loudly over your volume, may be a bad board or plasma panel. from behind tv, left side = y board, right side = z board, middle = power board ---- bad panel can buzz from anywhere... if you hear all parts buzzing, its probably normal plasma noise

My samsung dlp has a loud buzz/hum noise when it comes on and them remains though somewhat less loud

The buzz can be the color wheel or one of the cooling fans going bad. The only other thing that could cause a buzz would be the ballast going bad. Call a local repair shop to further diagnose the problem

Lost color, loud buzzing sound HLP4663W

This can be the colour wheel assembly, or the servo drive board, or a fault on the circuit board that does the sync processing for the colour wheel.

You will have to have the set properly serviced.
