Question about Kodak EasyShare C315 Digital Camera
The camera stopped working. I changed batteries and double checked to
see that they were in correctly. they were. I bought some new batteries
thinking that maybe I just had a bad pack of batteries. Still no luck.
The telescoping lens is out and no matter what I do, the red light
comes on in the front of the camera.
The problem is with the power - the lens being stuck out is a side effect
if there's enough/right power - the lens would retract if you shut if off. it shuts back off by itself that's why it won't retract and power is not sufficient for the lens lens to go back in
if your getting a red light, that means it's not totally dead
are you using alkalines?
the response of the cam towards an alkaline batt is very upredictable, sometimes it would take 30 pics, 10, 2, sometimes it won't even come on, just a blinking light
please use lithium batteries or ni-mh
if you are already usign a new set of lithium and it's doing the same thing, please arrange repair through www.kodak.com/go/itg

Normally in most of the cases the same situation happens if there is a friction in the movement of the lense assembly. Just remember if you happen to drop it or was exposed to sand on a beach. very fine particles of sand enters in between the moing barrels of the lense and creates trouble in the moement, leaing the lense to its last position. cleaning of the movement assembly may solve the problem.
