Question about Yamaha RX-V2700 Receiver
I currently have a 1 year old RX-V2700, and just purchased a Toshiba D-R400 DVD-Recorder. I connected the two using an HDMI cable and when watching a DVD, the receiver starts to skip after ten minutes. There is no skipping otherwise.
My current set-up is the RX-V2700 Yamaha Receiver, Toshiba D-R400, Direct TV HD Box (no DVR). The TV is a Sony Bravia 46" XBR3. The 5 speaker inwall are Polk Audio. All components that can use HDMI are using HDMI. I control everything with an 890 Harmony remote.
I have no sound when trying to watch a dvd through my rxv2700. the dvd player is an insigna blue rya player. It worked at first but not now

Direct connect works great, pass thru white noise, etc when using more than 10ft of hdmi wire
found 3ft connect will work both cases
the rxv2700 has a bag full of problems, only sound system is good
set was released to early, best bet dump it, why live with this pain

Sounds like a poor grounding issue between the units OR maybe they're not as compatible as the Mfg's say.
Could be a bad HDMI cable also. Most are made in the land of Nanking
