Yamaha RX-V2700 skipping when playing a DVD on Toshiba D-R400

I currently have a 1 year old RX-V2700, and just purchased a Toshiba D-R400 DVD-Recorder. I connected the two using an HDMI cable and when watching a DVD, the receiver starts to skip after ten minutes. There is no skipping otherwise.

My current set-up is the RX-V2700 Yamaha Receiver, Toshiba D-R400, Direct TV HD Box (no DVR). The TV is a Sony Bravia 46" XBR3. The 5 speaker inwall are Polk Audio. All components that can use HDMI are using HDMI. I control everything with an 890 Harmony remote.

Please advise.

My problem is, when connecting comcast HDVR cable box to yamaha 2700 receiver and receiver to Samsung HDTV, I only get the image flicking in and out, I can hear the sound and that's about it. The cables are good, they work well when connected directly from Comcast HDVR to HDTV.

Something in the passthru. Help. Thanks

Direct connect works great, pass thru white noise, etc when using more than 10ft of hdmi wire
found 3ft connect will work both cases
the rxv2700 has a bag full of problems, only sound system is good
set was released to early, best bet dump it, why live with this pain

Sounds like a poor grounding issue between the units OR maybe they're not as compatible as the Mfg's say.

Could be a bad HDMI cable also. Most are made in the land of Nanking

I have a yamaha V2700 and its been working fine for a number of years, and recent I change equipment around and now the AMP menu is frozen. You make it pop up and then you can't arrow up and down but you...

You KNOW that it followed a change you made, so retrace your steps. UNdo everything and see if it becomes operational again. Then make changes one step at a time to see where the failure appears.

What kind of up-grades are for the yamaha

There are no "upgrades" however, if your having problems with HDMI switching or "not working" You can send it to Yamaha and they will replace the HDMI board at n/c. It's still version 1.2 and the current version is 1.3a soon to be 1.4. What is it that you need to have upgraded? Post a comment with what it is you would like your receiver to do and I can help you further. I work with Yamaha daily

Looking for codes for samsung BD-P1600 blue ray for yamaha remote

Samung's code for DVD to Yamaha remote is "0600" if that does not work, your Yamaha remote is a "Learning" remote and can learn your DVD's remote button by button. If you don't have your Yamaha manual, here it is. Hope this helps, if you still have an issue, post a comment and I can help you some more.

Yamaha RX-V2700 no sound from any speaker outputs

Make sure that you have the correct input signal selected.
Also, check if the sound is not muted.
If you have a multi-room speaker switch, make sure it is set correctly to main speakers.

Problem with Dolby Digital mode

If it is a new DVD that may be a problem, as signal changes may be frustrating this old machine... but it is likely the cabling from the DVD player to the reciever. Are you on the right channels/settings? is the optical cable and digital cable recieving digital output from your DVD player? Try changing those settings and you should be in good shape Thanks! good luck!
