Question about HP PSC 2210 All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

Hp psc 2210 all-in-one printer is busy

I am trying to do a self test and the printer screen reads that the printer is busy.
No print jobs have been printed to clear it. Could print jobs be backed up on the computer?  Is there a way to clear them?
There are no print jobs from the printer as they have been cleared.
This could be part of a bigger problem as I am unable to print from my MAC OXS to my printer.
Also, does anyone know what printer drivers are?
When printing from the computer to the computer the message box on the computer reads that it is cueing the jobs and also all print jobs seem to  be put on hold
Sorry I don't know a lot of computer lingo and all the bits and pieces, so I hope you understand this.

I have the same problem as Helen JK. I keep getting a busy message when I press Enter to align the cartridge. I replaced the color cartridge and have not been able to do a selft test, print or scan. I have an HP Pavillion computer/

I have the same problem, the printer will not print and it says that there is error-printing. I will turn off, unplug, restart comp, and nothing changes. Occasionally it will make a copy, but other times it will only pull it half way through and then stop with a couple of black bars. i have used the Diagnostic test and it says everything checks out. Not sure what to do at this point.

Can't delete an abandoned print job now in print queue. It ran out of paper ages ago - now won't print (despite having paper) and won't delete or cancel that job. Won't print anything!

Disconnect fron the computer. Turn off printer and unplug from wall for at least 15 minutes. Plug back into wall and turn on. Do not connect to computer yet. See if printer cycles through self test and becomes ready. If if does, reconnect to computer. If job reappears and tries to print, you must clear the job from your computer print que.
Thanks

Prior to past few days printer worked fine. Now it prints a few postcards then gives a print buffer message on printer screen and from there on it prints gobbledy gook. Now it won't even print a test...

Sounds like you cover all the bases. I just wonder if you reset the unit via the service mode?
resetting the printer should have cleared the memory.

Hold down select and return while powering on machine, hold until self test comes up on display then press go, this will get you into service mode.

Run the memory diagnostics.

Lexmark x5495 all in one.paper does not come out when printing

It seems there is a possibility of a problem with the printer itself, or perhaps the cartridge. You should first self-test the printer. Since we are unsure where the problem exists, we must do eliminative troubleshooting to rule out parts of the printing system. The self-test allows us to rule out software and the cable by testing the hardware by itself. Please note that this is not a "fix," but rather a diagnostic test to determine if your hardware is at fault.

Please begin by disconnecting the power supply from the wall (not the back of the printer) for at least "30 seconds." Then plug the printer back in.

Next, try this printer self-test by following the steps given below:

1. Make sure the printer is in “Copy Mode.”
2. Press the “Menu” button once.
3. The screen will display “Copy Menu: Copies”.
4. Press the left arrow button once. The screen will display “Copy Menu: Tools”.
5. Press the check button once. The screen with read “Tools: Maintenance”.
6. Press the check button once. The screen with read “Maintenance: Ink Levels”.
7. Press the right arrow button until the screen reads “Maintenance: Print Test Page”.
8. Press the check button once. This will start the Self-Test. Once the page has printed, the printer will stop. The test is not continuous.

The self-test should at least print out a set of either a solid black or solid color bars, if not both (if you have a printer with both color and black installed simultaneously). Should this test fail, please try it again without cartridges installed. If the self-test still fails to take paper in and make sounds like the carrier is moving across the paper, this is a hardware issue, and the printer will require service. If the self-test completes without any cartridges installed, run the self-test again with only a color cartridge installed (If you have both black and color cartridges, after this test, run the test again with just the black cartridge installed). If you find that either cartridge causes the self-test to fail, please let us know.

If the self-test prints, but has lines or smudges or other print quality issues, please let us know. This includes any print quality issues - we need to know if the problems you have with your black or color are based in the printer, or communications with your computer, or the computer's software.

If the self-test prints your test bar(s) clearly, the printer hardware is not at fault.

Next, try this printer self-test by following the steps given below:

1. Power the printer off.
2. Press and hold the "Paper Feed" button.
3. While still holding the "Paper Feed" button, press and release the "Power" button. Continue holding the "Paper Feed" button.
4. When the printer starts pulling paper, release the "Paper Feed" button. It should print a test page at this point.
5. Power the printer off, as this test is continuous.

The self-test should at least print out a set of either a solid black or solid color bars, if not both (if you have a printer with both color and black installed simultaneously). If the self-test prints your test bar(s) clearly, the printer hardware is not at fault. The issue may be a communication problem, or perhaps a software conflict.

However, please let us know the name and version of the operating system (Windows XP / 2K / NT, Windows Vista, Mac) that you are using on your computer. This information is important for us to troubleshoot the issue further.
