ALL OF A SUDDEN MY DVD PLAYER DOES NOT READ ANY DISC. IT JUST COMPLETELY PASSES IT LIKE ONE IS NOT IN THERE, "NO DISC" AND IM NOT SURE WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. IS THIS ELECTRONIC FINISHED OR IS IT POSSIBLE TO GET THIS FIXED FOR A REASONABLE PRICE (IE NO MORE THAN I PAID)? IF YOU CAN HELP ME, i WILL GREATLY APPRECIATE IT
-   I have the same problem as mentioned above with the Sony DVP-NC675p. Took the cover off and noticed the spinner motor that spins the dvd was sticking because I gave the centering wheel on top a little spin and the player started working fine. I would like to know if the motor is replaceable at a reasonable price or can I just give it a squirt of lube oil.
-   my sony DVP-NC675P has worked fine for a couple of years now and suddenly stopped recognizing the disc..first reading "cannot". So I purchased a cleaning disk and inserted. It waits about 2 to 3 minutes after the disc is in place on position 1, then advances to the empty 2, then 3, then 4, then 5, then back to 1 where the cleaning disc is located and displays "no disc" and on the screen displays "insert disc". I have never cleaned it, so believe this is the likely cause but was surprised when the cleaning disk had no affect. I would be grateful if someone can share what to do...take it to service? Not sure what that might cost?

Don't panic, friend. Likely you've had the unit awhile. Get yourself a CD lens cleaner from your nearest music or Hi-Fi store. Run it a couple of times. That should solve your problem.
