Restarting of refridgerator may damage your compressor motor due to overload.

when you switch off the refridgerator the compressor is in load condition, sudden restart overload the motor, it consume more current so the light going to dim.

solution. If your refridgerator have no delay circuit inside,
use a refridgerator stabilizer or attach a delay circuit,
if you have the the restart delay circuit may problem repair it.

sudden restart may damage your compressor motor
overload the motor make light dim

sol.

  1. check your line supply plug and line loose contact problem
  2. check your motor on off relay or circuit problem replace it
  3. line supply voltage variation prevent it
  4. use a refridgerator voltage stabilizer (with delayed restart circuit)

Fridge stopped working light on motor not running

Robert,
Need more info. I am unaware of a "light on the motor". There are three motors normally in a refrigeration system. The inside Evaporator fan motor that circulates air across the evaporator coil inside the box, the Condenser fan motor near the compressor that cools the freon after compression, and the compressor itself. Normally none of these have a light. If you are referring to the light inside the box that turns on with opening the door AND the frig is not cooling, we must go to the very start. 1. Verify power at outlet.
2. Do you see (or inside the box- hear) the two fans running. 3. Is the compressor smoothly vibrating?

Tip

Refrigerator and freezer warm...my compressor is not running

Compressor starts and then stops.....I hear a clicking noise
I wish I had a dime for every time I heard the statement above made.
Before going into the issue we must first understand just what a compressor does and where it is located. The compressor is located (in most instances) on the lower backside of the unit. The side that is against the wall. It is behind either a cover made of cardboard or metal panel.
kdrake84_17.jpg
The compressor compresses the Freon to a gas which is then circulated through the evaporator coils
Which are located inside of your freezer section . Note the over load and relay location on the picture above.
There are three components....relay/overload/and the capacitor. This subject here is for the relay and overload. They are 95% of the time responsible for the compressor not running. Without them, the compressor will try to start and at times will run for a short amount of time. The customers complaint is usually both my freezer and refrigerator are warm. They also state ,"I hear the compressor turning on but it will shut off after a minute or two" and " I also hear a clicking noise"
The clicking sound is coming from the relay. The contacts have broken inside and they are not allowing the compressor to start. Note the location of the relay and overload on the compressor. The compressor has three prongs pertruding from the side that the relay and overload are plugged into. Simply pull them off the compressor and shake them. If they are bad you will hear a rattle sound coming from them.
When ordering your new relay and overload you will need the complete model number to ensure the proper part. See my tips and how to's at the bottom of this procedure for the link to find your model number. Here are just a few styles of overloads and relays.

Check the cycle timer this is usually 90% of call outs for this issue. They are usually locate inside fridge on the top by light ( some times on the lower outside back of unit). Put a flat head screw driver in and slowly turn until you hear a click and compressor should kick in. If this works you will have to replace timer or it will freeze up in several days but will keep you cooling until then. Good luck!!

Freezer is freezing refrigerator is not work at all

Your most likely problem is the defrost time found inside the fresh food compartment. Part number ( 68233-3) Defrost timer.
The location is in this photo below and in picture number #12 Here is a picture of the control panel and it should have a hole inside the bottom where you can place a flathead screwdriver and slowly turn clockwise until you hear the compressor stop running. Wait about 25 minutes and the compressor should come back on itself. If not turn again slowly clockwise until you hear the compressor restart. If it does not restart on its own then you need to replace the defrost timer. During the time the compressor is off you should be able to hear the freezer crackling and sizzling inside by opening the door to freezer and listening. If no sound of this I need to know. Please go to this page if you should need the defrost timer and enter the part number 68233-3 into the parts search feature or click on the photo of the timer with that number to go to the timer. Please rate my help and solution and if you run into any problems please let me know, Thank You, Sea Breeze

Kenmore side by side refrigerator not cooling

Check inside back wall of the freezer for frost buildup. It would be a sign that the defrost system is not working and the coil inside the back wall is frozen over stopping air circulation to the refrigerator.
Defrost system has a timer that energizes a heater and a defrost termination switch which shuts off the heaters when the coil is warm enough for all ice to be melted. If you have the frost, locate the defrost timer and turn the clutch head screw clockwise SLOWLY until you hear one audible click, the compressor will shut off and the system will be in defrost. After 18-22 minutes the refrigerator should restart automatically. If it does not restart after 25 Minutes turn the timer screw again to the second click. Refrigerator will then start. Replace the timer.

If it restarts after the 18-22 minutes and does not defrost ether the heater or defrost thermostat is bad.
