I have Sony DSC W70 camera with 2 GB memory card in it. Only 5 minutes of recording was left in memory card. All of a sudden while shooting a video, it showed format error and the screen turned blue. I switched the camera off and tried to switch it on, but the screen shows, insert memory card. I tried again to insert memory card but did not work.I dont know what to do. I have some very rare and important pictures in it.

My camera does not turn on and I think its because of a problem with the camera reading the battery. The battery is fully charged and it doesn't turn on.

Canon SD1300 memory card locked

There are several possible causes for "memory card locked", "memory card error", or "no memory card". The most common cause is having the tiny slide switch on the side of the card in the wrong position. But, if you've checked the slide switch, the internal switch in the card slot may be jammed by a grain of sand or gunk. Here are troubleshooting steps for this problem. Recommend the toothpick fix for your particular problem.

Whenever I tried to make s shot it says "protected

There are several possible causes for "memory card locked/protected", "memory card error", or "no memory card". Some include trying to use of a 4GB SDHC card with an older camera made before SDHC format came out. Others include problems with the tiny slide switch on the side of the card, or the electrical contact switch internal to the camera. The problem may also arise from simple formatting problems if the card has never been formatted in the camera (note that this will also erase the card). Troubleshooting tips for this problem may be found at this link.

Says to reinsert memory card & card is in camera. Try another card & says memory stick formatting error

i have the same problem..
I have a Sony Cybershot DSC T70 and it keeps saying "Reinsert memory stick" whenever I turn on the camera or slide down the camera lid. Also, whenever I try to view the pictures on my laptop it shows "Please reinsert the memory stick" something along those lines. As I have been researching for the solution, I would have to format the memory card. However, I wouldn't want to lose the pictures as I just took many as from the holiday last week. The only problem is the memory card, I tried using another memory card and it works fine with the camera. There is nothing wrong with the camera.\r\nCan someone please help me how to solve the memory stick problem? It would be great. Ty.

Will not allow me to view pictures I just took

Try to recover what is left on the memory stick with TestDisk on a pc.
Note, download the windows version and not the dos/windows version, the
dos/windows version is for windows 3.11 and lower.

Try to fomat the card afterwards if this does'nt help at all try another card in
your camera, if the other card works replace your other card else get te camera autorized repairs man.

Succes.

Error message: Reinsert the Memory Stick"

The problem is with the memory card. It probably just shorted internally and is no longer useful. The amount of memory is not the problem, as I used a 4GB card for a long time and my card finally went bad. You will just have to get another memory card and MAYBE find someone to be able to retrieve your data.

Memory card error (states memory card locked) not locked

Remove the card and look for a tiny slide switch on the side of the card. Slide this switch to the other "unlocked" position. Reinsert the card and try it out.

your memory card has a virus! try formatting using camera. make it a habit that whenever you reinsert the memory card in your camera, format it first before taking shots, this will erase everything including virus! try also to remove and reinsert the card several times, this will gonna clean the contact points inside the camera. Try also another memory card.
