-   had the same problem. the wmp offers a format function under the sync button, and it worked, all files were removed from the YP-T9J although the wmp had only recognized the presets...
The trouble is that samsung media studio or indeed windows explorer seem to lose track of the files so that the machine gets fuller and it's imposible to erase them. The solution is to erase the main folders (datacasts, music, photo, etc) using explorer. That gets rid of all the files and the main folders magically reappear (must be in the firmware....)
There doesn't appear to be a way to do that. The only thing I found was a way to delete the presets. However, here is a ling to the manual: http://www.scribd.com/doc/32357/yepp-t9-manual?publish_banner=1
Yes there is a way and it worked for me... If you have windows media player than you can empty you samsung t9... All you have to do is plug in your samsung and it will say on windows media player (left) samsung... right click the word samsung and it will give you options.... than click fromat and it will delet everything....
Hope this worked for you because it worked for me.... IF it worked than give me a thumbs up... thank you
