Question about ASUS VIA 694XDP Dual Processor Chipset CUV4X-D Motherboard

Enable AGP 4x

Here's a short story of my 4x/2x problemes:

I bought a EVGA 7600GS(AGP 8x), in replacement of a EVGA6200LE(AGP8x), in replacement of a ASUS RADEON 9600XT(AGP8x) working in AGP 4x.

Why I can't get AGP 4x working and only AGP 2x after NVIDIA,s drivers installed with EVGAgraphic cards? Is this in the drivers package and why it's working 4x with ASUS RADEON one.

I know that we have to install GART drivers before install ASUS RADEON graphic drivers. Do I have to install GART one's b4 nvidia drivers?

Is GART a part of ATI drivers? I saw there's VIA agp drivers in them in the installation.

Sorry about so many questions but you know so many $ for nothing is not for me.

By the way, i have xp pro sp1 embedded + sp2 alone on additionnal cd installed.

I took a look on VIA arena drivers site but i'm not sure about witch one to choose.

I think there's some via drivers inside xp sp2 and when i had formated few days ago it was working in 4x before i installed nvidia drivers and 2x after those ones installed.

Do i have to re-format "C/" or if i use nVidia uninstaller and drivers cleaner will be enough?

Do i have to uninstall via drivers too or delete cpu to agp via in the devices manager?
I hope that you will be able to help me.

Have a nice day!

P.S. sorry about my english writting, i'm french canadian of Québec city...

Soyo SY-P4VSA Motherboard - AGP version?

Nope, Jeff.

It uses AGP 2X, or 4X.

Not trying to incur your wrath, but I would use that motherboard for a Frisbee.

Got to be one of the cr@ppiest motherboard manufacturers out there.
Hate to see you put money into it, just to have it fail down the road.

Plus, let's talk.......

How many other motherboards, do you think are going to use a AGP graphics card?

Getting a good deal? I understand.
Just hate to see you throwing your money away.

Thank you for letting me say that, hope I have not offended you.

Note the voltages used,

Is GF4 Mx440 agp8x support P4s5mg/gl motherboard?

The ECS P4S5MG/GL+ motherboard only supports AGP 4X graphics cards,

AGP 8X graphics cards use .08 Volts (DC)

AGP 4X graphics cards use 1.5 Volts (DC)

Use a graphics card that is AGP 4X/8X.

What Graphics AGP Card could I buy to improve my system? thanks Graham

Click here for full specification list for ASUS P4P800SE Motherboard.
Click here for Supported Graphics cards, remember when you go though the graphics cards remember its only those of AGP8X and 4X
If you can go for a Geforce 6600Gt AGP8X you will then be able to do some gaming at 1024X768 pixels, play Call of Duty 4 at low settings. Good considering that Call of Duty 4 is a new game.

It shows that any AGP 8X or 4X card is supported also look at the picture attatched, I circled supported Graphic Cards in RED!!! I recomend purchasing a AGP8X card. 128mb at least.

Please remember to rate my expertise, thumbs up.

You have an AGP expansion slot for a graphics card.
(Accelerated Graphics Port)
It uses either 1x, 2X, or 4X graphics cards. Since the only AGP graphics cards out there are 4X or 8X, the 1X, and 2X are moot points. (They were also Junk anyway!)

Your AGP graphics slot only supports AGP graphics cards that are 1.5 volts. There are AGP graphics cards out there, that are Universal. Universal in that they will run as AGP 8X, (.8 volts), or AGP 4X, (1.5 volts)

This is an example:

Don't expect to play the high end new intense games with this. I'm afraid you'll have to update your motherboard, processor, ram memory, and a better graphics card to do that.

(Example? XFX Nvidia nForce 680i LT SLI motherboard, Intel Core2 Duo E8200 cpu, Corsair XMS2 PC6400 ram memory, 1GB x2 of them, (DDR2 at 800MHz), and XFX Geforce 9800GTX+, vid card. (Plus OCZ SteathXStream 600W power supply)
This won't break the bank, and will slam some games to the wall!)

Compaq EVO 510 CMT

Accourding to other users that own the 510CMT, once the AGP card has been installed it automatically disables the onboard graphics card.

From reading post from the link above, the EVO can run only a 4x 1.5v AGP video card and it's picky about this. So if you have an AGP card & it runs both 8x & 4x speed chances it wil not function in the EVO.
Here is a list of AGP 1.5v 4x cards that should function in the EVO:

Good Luck!

Graphics card support to motherboard D845GBV

AGP 2.0 and 3.0 4x and 8x feed with the 1.5v spec. AGP 1.0 1x and 2x was fed at 3.3v. In short, you should be fine.

Problem with FX500 VGA

In your bios, please enable the
AGP 3.0 Calibration cycle. Also, make sure your Aperture size is correct to the size of the card.

Also, in bios under PC health, check to see what the VAGP is running at, if it is not 1.5v, then your card is not getting enough power.

Also, in the advanced chipset features, make sure that the Init Display First is set to AGP.

When these are all set, reboot and go back into bios, check to see if you can change AGP to 8x now.
