Do you have plastic replacement shield for light bulb for GE Exhaust Hood - Model JV347 0XIAA - Serial GS867119C ?

I'm betting 60 watt is much higher than the wattage recommended generating way too much heat in the confined space under the plastic shield. There should be a sticker in the bulb compartment listing the maximum wattage recommended.

Light went out on refrigerator side

Your Sub-Zero unit contains standard 40 watt appliance bulbs in all compartments.

You'll need to remove the light shield in the top of the refrigerator or freezer to replace the bulbs. Place your hands under the light shield and release the two clips on the back of the light shield, then lift up and slide back slowly until the key slots on the side of the light shield drop past the mounting studs in the side walls. Then remove the shield.

The bulbs are now accessible.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I'll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Thank you for using Fixya, and have a nice day.

I need to know what the power consumption is for my serger as we will be moving off the grid. thank you.

Hi gladysmorin...
We would need the info from your metal tag on the surger motor before we can tell you what the power consumption would be.
So you will need to look on the metal tag that is attached to the surger motor and retrieve that information, you will need the amperage and the voltage.
But you can also figure out how many watts any appliance will consume in power...you will do some math.

If you want the watts, volts or amps for a given appliance follow the examples below:

Amps X Volts = Watts
example: 3.0 amps X 220 volts = 660 Watts
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Watts ( / ) divided by Amps = Volts
example: 100 watts ( / ) divided by10 Amps = 10 Volts
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Watts ( / )divided by Volts = Amps
example: 60 watts ( / ) divided by 120 volts = .5 Amps
( / ) = the right slash means...divided by.

We are trying to buy a home which once had oil heat and it has part full basement and part crawlspace, IF the old tank is still on the property (converted to gas long ago) unfortunately it's in the...

I have not seen an home heating fuel oil tank buried before. Most such oil tanks were standing on legs and outside of the house. If the old oil furnace was where the new gas furnace is, look for the old fuel line hanging loose. It might tell you where the tank was or is.

How to change the light bulb

Hi

Not all bulbs will fit your refrigerator. Be sure to replace the bulb with one of the same size, shape and wattage. On some models, the dispenser light requires a heavy duty 10-watt bulb. All other lights require a 40-watt bulb.

1. Unplug or disconnect power from your refrigerator.

2. Remove light shield when applicable.
NOTE: To clean the ligt shield, wash it with warm water and liquid detergent. Be sure to dry the shield thoroughly before installing.

3. Remove the light bulb and replace it with the same size, shape and wattage.

4. Replace light shield when applicable.

We have a Malibu/Intermatic timer on our landscape lights. This is the second one we have had and it is approximately 4 years old--200W. The last 2-3days, the lights come on at the time that is set but...

The ground shields are _required_ when connecting submersible underwater lights and 12 volt submersible pumps in water gardens and such.

As a licensed electrician, I must tell you to immediately unplug the power pack (transformer) from the 120 volt outlet and _DO_ NOT use it again until this problem has been solved. This is a definite FIRE HAZARD.
Based on what you stated, I strongly recommend replacing the existing 200 watt power pack with an Intermatic ML300RTW Malibu 300-Watt Power Pack or similar 300 WATT transformer.
ADDITIONALLY, I strongly recommend replacing the _entire_ existing main cable run with Intermatic ML12210 Malibu 100-Foot 12/2-Guage Low Voltage Cable. Make sure to get 12 gauge wire.
There are a few things going on here. First, the transformer is being overloaded. I suspect that you are running pretty close to 200 watts or more. Because the tranformer is overloaded it overheats and the solder in the built-in internal thermal overload melts and disconnects the circuit. When the transformer cools some, the solder in the overload solidifies enough to re-establish the circuit. If this cycle is allowed to continue, either the transformer burns out due to heat or starts a fire.
While these transformers are supposed to operate at full capacity, they will wear out quicker when operated in such a manner. For best results, don't operate the transformer at over 80%. For a 200 watt transformer that would be 160 watts ( 200 watts x .80 = 160 watts).
Secondly, I also suspect that the cable has been damaged, possibly when the siding was installed, and there is a short in the cable, which in turn is overloading the transformer. It's also possible that the end of the cable is shorting out.
In this case the only safe solution is to replace the cable. Even if you decide to keep the existing transformer and reduce the total wattage by using smaller watt bulbs or removing some lights, I still highly recommend replacing the cable.
Sorry to be so harsh about this, but this is a _serious_ matter. You've already had a fire in the mulch and melted the vinyl siding. If you don't feel comfortable dealing with this matter, please call a _qualified_ electrician.
