Question about Toshiba Satellite M35X-S149 Notebook

1 Answer

No sound I lost my sound completely. I even lost the volume icon on the taskbar. I'm thinking that maybe I need to reinstall a sound driver, but I don't know which one or how to find out. I would like to get my sound back but if it's a hardware problem & the sound card is part of the motherboard, I don't want to spend a lot of money to get a new motherboard.

First let us check for the hardware...........................

Go to the Control Panel and uninstall the sound card. Then restart the computer, on restarting you willbe told to install the new found hardware, you just go on clicking Next till to the end.

If the above instruction yields no results, go to this site for the drivers of your sound card....................................

http://www.driverfiles.net/Notebooks/Toshiba/Satellite-M35X-S149/download/page,sh,31141,221,19,.html

Download and install the drivers and watcth the results. If nothing good at all, you should consult a nearby service shop if not buying a new sound card.

Cheers.............

Missing icon from taskbar
1. If you have uninstall your Audio drivers from your system the volume icon will not show in the taskbar. You have to reinstall the audio drivers to restore the volume icon back to the taskbar

The sound on my computer isn't working.

Press Start, then setting and then go to control panel, where you will find "sound and audio devices" button, click it and see whether the option "Place volume icon in the taskbar". If it is ticked and even then there is no icon of volume in the taskbar, then you have to reinstall the sound driver.

Sound crashes often, then cannot adjust volume

Sounds like your sound card drivers are corrupted and causing problems with your OS. You may need to either upgrade them or reinstall them.
What OS are u using?

Go to control panel --> system --> hardware >> device manager.
If you have problem with driver, there will be a big yellow question mark in your "audio controller". If there is problem, you have to reinstall your audio-driver.
If it is ok, then back to control panel -->sounds and audio devices. In tab "volume", you can see if your system might be "mute" (do uncheck box of mute). And if your volume icon is not in the taskbar, do check the checkbox of "place volume icon in the taskbar".
You can also modify the speaker performance here.
