I have a 1600 watt boss chaos amp it has power no sound rca jack good fuzes are good no burnt smell every thing is good just dosent have any sound

You need to check the 2 sets of fuses on the face of the unit.
Try removing the fuses and resetting them.

Power hookup is 12+, remote power on and negative.

Soundsteam 1.800 amp rubicon protection light stays on green light chirps. How do I reset the amp?

disconnect the speaker wires from the amp, and check for power. there is no resetting, other than simply turning the amp off and back on. if it powers up fine without the speaker/sub(s) connected, check your wiring and check the ohms with a meter. if you do not find a problem there(should read within 1ohm of how you wired it) then check for dc voltage coming out of the speaker terminals on the amp. should also check that the amp is getting good power and ground. if wiring and speaker(s) check out okay, then the amp is damaged. if you get dc voltage from the speaker terminals, the output transistors are shorted out and it needs to be repaired by a tech.

We installed the amp with more than enough gauge wire, and a fuse. and after resetting the ground strap we got the amp to start working after about 3 minutes at medium power we was adjusting the sound via...

In car audio always make sure that you are feeding your amplifier with the voltage that it requires, usually 12v to 14v (some amplifiers can do 12v to 18v). If you have a voltmeter, check your voltage reading if its reading 12v above, if it reads 11.9v below & just stays there & keeps on going down then your problem is with your voltage.
The possible causes of the protect light to turn on in a amplifier is: 1. low voltage - the amplifier is not running on its required voltage / is not getting enough voltage 2. thermal protect - too much heat, usually this occurs when an amplifier is in a tight space & the voltage keeps going down this will cause heat. 3. shortage - wire's are touching each other 4. poor ground - always make sure you ground your amplifier to your vehicles chasis
Hope this helps your concern. Have a blessed weekend.

Its a 2008chevrolet cobalt lt &there was only 85000 kilometers& now the kilometer is now saying trip a & then 5 minutes later it said tripb. also the engine light is on. what does that mean?

Trip A and B is how far you have traveled since resetting the tripodometer. It continues to count till you reset it. This is how one can check how many miles you are getting from fill up to fill up. After gassing up the car full, reset the tripodometer and see when the next time your fill up.

Far as the Engine light, it's probably due to bad Oxygen sensor.

No sound from amp when amp is powered up, whats wrong? Alpine m-1000 wih alpine deck. Was told something about resetting it but don't know, please help?

There is a number of things that can cause no sound from the amp.

Check to make sure your RCA's are plugged in to the amp.
Make sure the ground and remote are not touching on the amp.
This will cause your head unit to gray out in some areas.
Verify, your subwoofers are in working order.
Test another pair of speakers on your amp to make sure.
If those speakers work, your subwoofers are fried or have come unhooked inside your subwoofer enclosure.
Make sure you have not set the head unit to Surround Sound if you have a DVD player in your vehicle.
This should be set as passive.
Make sure your gains aren't turned down on the amp.
Even if there is a light on the top of the amp, the fuse might have blown.
Make sure a fuse on the amp didn't blow. This will in some cases cause the amp to go into protect and no bass.

I touched two speaker wires together and amp will not respond

That is a very nice amp . Try not to touch (short) those wires together. But yes, the amp has protection and is shutting off to protect it.

Red light on my amp?

Does the amp power up normally if you disconnect the speaker wires from the speaker terminals of the amp?

It's never a good thing to blindly short across a power source.

Negative speaker output touched chasis of amp.

check all fuses on the unit, pull them all.
look for a way of resetting the amp.

that way you wont short a screw driver across the terminals on to the chasis.
