Question about HP Pavilion dv6000z Notebook
I replaced the battery but my charge light will go out after a few seconds.
If I remove and reinsert the battery the charge light will come on but then just go out again.
The battery meter doesn't see the battery but if I unplug the AC power the laptop stays running so it is being power by the battery.
I cleaned the contacts on the battery and laptop but it didn't help.
I tested this camera for a client. I didn’t have the light running for more than 15 minutes. The battery lasted approximately 6 hours before recharging. The LCD, however, had a few dead pixels - never saw this before. Tried returning for exchange and had to put up quite a fight. Anyone else seen this? http://www.batteryfast.co.uk

I've precisly the same problem, but mu battery reaches 15% or so, but then the orange led goes of, and the laptop says there's no battery present. It is probably a problem with your BIOS, and in needs an update, but you'll need a Floppy drive to update the BIOS.

You don't have to change or replace your motherboard ..
just go to toshiba website........select your model by its serial No. and download the all available Drivers like Sound, Video, bios, management etc.....
install all these Drivers on your Laptop......... your motherboard will be up-to-date.

Hey Mark, The issue could be with the OS itself.., try doing a LKGC or a system restore from the safe mode.., if these do not work OSRI is the only resort.
