Question about Ovens

Old Hotpint I have an Old Hotpoint, built-in, electric, self-cleaning oven that I had installed when I built my home in 1987. Still works GREAT. I am selling the house and would like to replace the metal well as the plastic button on the clock is snapped off (didn't know my own strength..ha..ha) long do they normally set the self-cleaning mode for?

Re: Old Hotpint

I'm looking for the manual for a Hotpoint wall oven HA138501. Got it second-hand and it has never been used. Is yours the same?

Random intermittant crackling sound from Hotpoint electric oven

This could be insulation on the wiring or more importantly the connecting spot might be frying. In any event, disassemble it and check into it.

Hotpoint SD97PI oven self cleaning funtion and grill not working

The oven temperature is regulated by a temperature sensor when placed in self clean the sensor is removed from the circuit and full power is applied to both the bake and broil elements causing an the temperature to exceed in some some models up to 1,000 F. I would recommend against using self clean for the simple fact that no oven cavity to this date has been designed to withstand that high of a temperature and therefore excess heat is passed upward resulting in damaged lock mechanisms, control boards, and other electronic components. The most common complaint I have had with built in ovens besides the element burning out, is the oven door locked shut. When I get to the house and I ask to tell me a little bit of whats going on the story always starts " well, I was using the self clean option" or some variation of the sort.

Is it possible to transfer the 'self clean' ovens from an Elotrolux EKC 6047X to a Zannusi ZKC 6020W? The Zannusi is 16mths old, and the Electrolux is 40 mths old. My wife would like self clean ovens,...

If by 'transfer the self clean' you mean just putting the oven liner panels from one oven to the other then maybe, but if you mean to transfer the high temperature clean cycle oven complete including wiring alterations then i would have to advise you NOT to do so on fire safety grounds as i'm sure it would invalidate any warranties and more importantly breach your home insurance conditions.

My hotpoint sy36x cooker has just stopped working , the clock on the front stilll works but when i turn the button to turn on it doesnt do anything, when i tap the front left of the top panel it comes on...

Sounds like it could be could be due to a bad or loose connection..
You need to access the control panel, and check the connections.
If the oven is built in, then you will have to remove it from the unit.
Hope this helps.

Oven will not heat after self cleaning

We used the self cleaning feature on our RBS305 Built In Electric oven and afterwards it would not heat. replaced the Fuse-Thermal part Nr 9759243 (which is the new part number. (Shown as Nr 37 on the Parts list for the oven parts). Cut all Power to the oven off and it was very easy to pull oven out with help of my wife. Removed back, bought a new part for 49.55 plus tax. Put in new part, replaced back and oven works like new. I am a 73 year old senior so when I say it is fairly easy to replace you know it is. Hope this helps someone
