I have an Lg plasma 42" and it has no color. It is used but was working in the store. I have red, green, blue cables hooked to my direct tv but it is black and white. Is my hook up correct. It also does this with dvd. Should I use s-video cable?

i have an lg plasma it has a green line down the center what. .... Essentially I just disconnected the flat cable around where the vertical line was, sprayed it with a ...
the component video cables are switched around. there are 3 colors for video - green, blue and red two for sound - white and red
make sure you didn't swap the red cables, or swap the blue and red, this is most likely the cause of your issue, check on both the sat box and on the tv
samsung 42" plasma hooked up to LG vcr/dvd combo and foxtel IQ box. all working but only by plugging vcr cable into video camera sockets on side of plasma tv?? reason only place with a yellow plug socket? on rear of tv colours are only red, green.blue? and white. nothing for the yellow can you give any advice on correct hookup proccedure please.
this is a monitor plasma tv and it will need some type of tuner to bring the cable channels down to the audio/video jacks or the composite video jacks(blue/red/green) you can use a cable ready vcr to input the video in tv jacks and hook up the cable in to your vcr rf input.
that could be a high voltage that feeds the panel, that can be adjusted (that voltage need to be verified first) Also there is a couple of boards that may be creating the problem (X & Y main boards )
Usually this is caused by unproperly hooked up component video cables. Check the green, blue and red component video cables on the tv and on the device (cablebox) to hopefully solve the issue. Sometimes one just pulls loose also
I assume you are saying that the DVD player only has RCA jacks. It would be good to know if the DVD player has Component output as that is the preferred output. You will know this if the RCA jacks on the DVD are color coded green, blue and red.... You would by a set of component cables, hook to DVD matching colors and then find the same color code on input of the TV. You must also run the red and white cable from the DVD output to the TV input for audio. The input on the TV would be labled component in or input and a #. Simply select the input, or source button on remote to select the input that matches your choice and all should function. If there is no component on the DVD output and only a composit hook up (color code by yellow, red, white) again just match that to the corresponding input on the TV.
