Can you get to the "safe mode" by hitting F8 as it is booting up? You may be able to do a virus scan which could fix it.

Black screen with flashing curser

if this happens before windows loads then it means that windows cannot be loaded, thus, either crashed hard drive, or problem in windows files. Try check disk, after backing up your data, if that doesnt work try formatting.

Its very likely that the bad shutdown has just caused a windows file to become corrupted.
Boot to the windows CD and select "repair windows".
This should fix the problem.

Once executed, the worm will display this message (in broken english perhaps):hi how are u.....

key as soon as you see the splash screen, enter into safe mode, if you get to win safe mode run anti-virus software to remove and repair win registry, depending on what kind of infection you may be able to recover from it if not backup all of your work on flash drive ect, and re- install/recover your pc using the recovery disk.email me at; [email protected]

Have an Acer Aspire One Pro (8.5" screen). It worked well, but today it started to give an exception error (wouldn't execute lsass.exe). Any options.

It may be virus related. The The Sasser worm exploited a vulnerability in LSASS to spread via a remote buffer overflow in computers running Microsoft Windows XP and Windows 2000. The worm is particularly potent in that it can spread without any interaction with humans, nor does it 'travel by email' like many other worms.

I would start your computer in Safe Mode and run a virus scan to see it picks anything up.

Desk top screen keeps flashing wont start up

THE IDEA OF THE SCREEN FLASHING COULD BE EITHER A WINDOWS PROBLEM OR A VIRUS,THE BEST WOULD BE TO GET A HOLD OF A WINDOWS INSTALLATION CD AND JUST UPGRADE THE CURRENT SOFTWARE THAT YOU ARE RUNNING ON THE PC.

Can't delete viruses: i'm using antivir guard and there are a lot of viruses that can't be deleted namely worm/mabezat,w32/mabezat, tr/dropper.gen

boot the system into safe mode by hitting the f8 key after the bios flashes onscreen but before the windows load screen comes up try cleaning the system in safe mode...also try using windows help support and the system restore utility and take the system back to before u had the virus.
if this wont work for you you need to seek a local professional

HP - Compaq 6310P Laptop that Is giving an Isass.exe system error

As you may know, lsass is; Local Security Authentication Server. ANY OF THESE THINGS CAN RESULT IN AN UNUSABLE SYSTEM! So don't try them if you aren't able to re-install your operating system without trashing it (Over top should work), if there's any information not backed up that you can't lose, or aren't prepared for the worst, because that's what usually happens, right? :^D TAKE IT TO SOMEONE IF ANY OF THESE THINGS APPLY TO YOU.

Although you shouldn't have any problems with these simple remedies, I don't want to be responsible if it does!

The trojan you found and removed has corrupted some registry settings.

If you have a known good configuration, you can "go back". OR you can try running a registry cleaner on it.

You can also try going into "Services" and killing it, which should bring up your Welcome screen and reboot. All of your usernames and passwords may be gone though! And you'll have to start over.

Windows starts to set up then screen goes black and

sounds like you have a heating problem I need More information to help you, try pulling the side off the pc and blow off the cpu fan with compressed air for a computer store also blow out the monitor as best you can, next start up the computer but go into safe mode by pressing F8 before windows loads load without networking if it works there and does not turn off you have a driver problem after performing the first two suggestions if it stays on reboot hit F8 again before windows loads and click load in safe mode with networking then go to Microsoft's help page it's http://www.microsoft.safety.clean and run their cleaner if it detects a bug remove them then go to microsoft support and download the latest drivers next defrag the computer in safe mode then go to www.drivers.com and run scan for driver updates there it will give you a list of out of date drivers for your entire computer save the screen in word by using the ctrl V and ctrl p and then reboot normally and if windows stays on go to the driver site and down load all the latest drivers, next go to male-ware bytes and download their free trial software and run a scan on your computer. The latest virus has did ansi bombs with Delaware and worms and has killed your monitor drivers once you run the male-ware and remove the virus's and worms reboot to safe mode do disk cleanup and then do disk defrag in safe mode. good luck.
