Question about RCA RT2500 System

1 Answer

I was given a rt2500 because it was buzzing through the speakers for 20 - 25 minutes till it warmed up. I found a post on this site about this problem and I replaced the 2 caps. that they said to replace and that took care of the buzz. However, when I hooked up the 2 front speakers and turned on the tuner I could barely here anything with the volume up all the way and what I could here kept cutting in and out.I checked the fuses and found that F106 and F107 were blown,I replaced them and then I got a lttle more sound but it still kept cutting in and out and then the fuses both blew again.
Please any help would be great. Thanks

Similar problem here, at first 20-30 min warm-up time, followed by irregularity in sound levels, to a complete failure after using for around 30 minutes after warm up (choppy sound to a steady buzz). I wonder if over heating has something to do with it since I left it on all the time after the need of a warm-up occurred. One night, a horrid buzz came from the system and ever since it would become unbearable to listen too after a few minutes, I am debating either to attempt a fix or chunk it. I haven't tried the caps and fuses yet, but seeing your problem leads me to believe it is something more to the problem, and more likely a better investment would be an upgrade.

SOURCE: No sound from speakers

Make sure all your audio jacks are hooked up right and make sure your on a good mode of sound. Also, you can try this for support from the actual RCA service.**&p_srch=1

I am connected to the TV from the sound system. Of my six speakers connected, I can only get sound from the SW, and the front L & R speakers. No sound is coming out of the Center or Rear L & R. ...

You don't say HOW the 'TV' audio is carried to the RT2500? TV's are usually the end of the chain, not a link in it. For multichannel audio you need a multichannel digital source. Is that the TV or would it be the cable/sat box? Try running a digital audio cable from one of those to the RCA.

Buzzing sound coming from all speakers

Can't say for sure (not a lot to go off of) but whenever i hear a buzzing sound from my speakers, its because of a poor connection (broken/exposed/bent) of the audio cables (whether its the red/white, or headphone jack (computers)).
