Question about Sharp LC-32D6U 32 in. LCD Television
When you turn the tv on, do you hear a faint “pop” noise from the speaker? If so, the problem is with the heat sink under the audio IC. Over time, the heat sink will lose its consistency and start to melt, thus shorting out the audio circuit either intermittently (in your case) or all of the time. To fix, you’d need to clean off the melted residue on both sides of the audio IC as well as replacing the heat sink with a newly redesigned Sharp Heat Insulation Pad. It’s a pretty complicated fix, I suggest calling your local authorized sharp service center to fix this problem. The part is inexpensive, so you’re most likely looking at a labor charge (maybe around $200ish) for the repair if they are not marking up the price too much.
