Maybe the song format is not supported by the player otherwise you need to format your mp3 player

Hi lorraine kau...

You are correct...You have the wrong format on some of your songs to play in your player.
You will need a format converter to convert the itunes (AAC format) songs into mp3 or wma to work in your player.

Plays six of twenty mp3s and the rest come up as

Delete songs and Format (Helps with try to delete BAD TRACKS and folders that will not delete
Labeling Unknown Songs: open Windows Media Player and go to library click on artist. The sub folders will be named by the artists and the unknown songs will be in the sub that say's unknown. Click on unknown then right click on the title bar put a check next to artist and album artist. Right click song under artist or album artist or both and type in the name of the artist etc.... This change in your computers Music folders also then sync with your sansa or media player then load songs to it........

Coby mp3 3002g won't play songs I jus added. It says unknown formated.

Hello

Ok, if the player states that it is a unknown format, it means that the songs which you coppied to the device is not in mp3 format.

Here is how you change it to the right format:
Go to the link and download the free mp3 converter software.

How to download music on my grand daughter's memorex mp3 player

The jWin mp3 players are completely incompatible with Windows Vista, so your new Dell may not be compatible. Jwin has discontinued their mp3 player line, so it is hard to find support. If your computer happens to be running Windows XP:

1) Find a CD, or sign up for a music service such as Rhapsody's Mp3-Only service - whichever service you pick, make sure that they give you the songs in mp3 format only, or you'll be be posting to this forum everyday.

2) Once you have downloaded the songs, you can transfer them to the jWin using Windows Media Player. If you have CD's, "Rip" them using the Rip tab in Windows Media Player, but be sure to go into the menu of Windows Media Player and change your Rip Options --> Format to "Mp3," or the Jwin won't recognize them.

Good luck!

Slick mp3

The player says you have an unknown format, I take it. Most likely you loaded a song that's in a format the player doesn't recognize, or loaded a song with the extension wrong.. From some specs; Audio file format: MP3, WMA, WMA-DRM10 (PlaysForSure), WAV. Easiest fix, load songs it'll recognize, if you have one it's not happy with, try using GoldWave (www.goldwave.com) to load it, then save in appropriate format. Exellent program that handles most formats.

Mp3 in as "unknown". Won't play

download Switch by searching for it on google...then you can change the formats of your songs to anything you like and you can change how big the file gets converted to!!!

you can make them pretty small and then you can fit about 2,000 songs on a 2 GB!

hope this helps!

don't worry Switch does not give you spyware1.gif or viruses1.gif.. I checked! :]

this will "clean up" the files you want to put on your sansa...

it really works!! AND ITS FREEEEEE

Some songs read 'unknown'

you need to make shure does songs end in .mp3 with lowercase letters for the song title its just a encryption problem!

rename all the songs after download from the net then put them in the mp3 player ! its not recognising the letters from the original persone who wrote the titles
