Question about Sony PlayStation 2 (PS2) Console

Guitar hero3 on PS2 (original)

We got guitar hero III for PS2 bundle with 1 controller. All works fine. Then we went out and bought psyclone brand second guitar for 2 player mode. Will not work, we have exchanged once same problem, Then went and bought React brand guitar same problem. When you push blue game reads it as green being pushed, when you push orange game thinks its red, other buttons don't work at all. Same problem with all guitars. We have tried guitar on the newer slim version and in the player 1 port. No luck.
Please help! I have found no info on this same problem and I find that hard to believe.

The problem I'm having is when you plug the aftermarket React Guitar, my PS3 reconizes it as a microphone and not another guitar. Any ideas on what to do instead of taking it back or just smashing it? lol

Haha you know i had the exact same problem with my PS3 version of the game i tried to trick the game by getting an adapter so i could plug my old PS2 guitar hero controller into it and just play 2 player that way and the exact same thing happend. Luckly i have a bud who works at game stop and he told me that second guitars for the game have been put up on sale yet so you have to buy the pack again for another guitar. How stupid is that, but yeah bud you me and everyone else is out of luck for now. But good news my bud at the stop told me they come on sale in about a month so not to much longer befor were all rockin out

Should the guitar work?

It definitely depends on the kind of guitar you buy. And what system you're playing on. If you're playing on the wii, good luck. You might be able to pull it off with another system, but I wouldn't count on it.

Guitar Hero II and III were made for the older systems right? So I don't think the new guitars will work. Just in case, here's some things you might try.

Trying to get guitar hero world tour on ps2 but keeps going to browser, works fine on a friends ps2, what am I doing wrong ?

i had the exact same problem. the original ps2 doesnt have "up to date" hardware in it, so sometimes there are disks that it cant read. what you have to do is take it to the place where you bought it and ask for a different disk. they may give you a hassle, so be prepared to push through with your argument that "the customer is always right"

I just ordered by son a guitar for "guitar hero III" for Xbox 360, but it will not operate. Do you have to buy a special guitar for different "guitar hero" games?

no. an official guitar hero controller (ie mock-Guitar)will work on all Guitar Hero releases.

is it an official branded Guitar hero controller?

did you guy it second hand?

those guitars are using the same frequency and are canceling one or the other out. plus they are the same brand, i would use the standard wired guitar and one wireless or buy an official wireless guitar. good luck bro! Rock On!
