I attempted to start my dishwasher and there are no lights, no sound, nothing. As if there is no power to it. However, we checked the wiring with a volt meter and it is getting 120 volts.
Is there a reset button somewhere?? Ctrl-alt-delete? Reboot?

It sounds like you have "locked" the dishwasher. This was an added feature that most people never wanted since it only seems to be set by accident.
Try pressing the 3 second button and holding it down for at least three seconds. This should turn the light off. Drove us nuts the first time it happened. If it doesn't turn off then I guess it is broken.
Sounds like you need to check for power to the unit. Access is at bottom of dishwasher under panel. Next you will see the wiring coming into an enclosed electrical box. you will need to get to wires and check voltage on black hot wire to neutral with a voltage meter. If you have power but still doesn't work then at least you know the problem is with the unit and not the incoming power.
Most common d/w power is 120 volts, check for 120 volts with avolt meter at themain power harness where it enters into the dishwasher, you will have to remove the lower access panels to get to the power box. Dishwashers also have at least one and most newer dishwashers have two door switches that must be checked. You will find then behind the console at the door latch area. Please see this picture of what the dishwasher switch looks like.

Hello I am V- Mari and i own a Kenmore dishwasher model Number 587.1574590 and it doesn't work at all. The power light comes on and it seems to make noise, but it does nothing. Is there a recall for these models or free fix help please respond to email@example.com. I would like to solve my dishwasher problems as soon as possible. Thank you!
I took the door apart, removed the control board, which I had expected to replace. I disconnected the ribbon cable that connects the control panel to control board cleaned the connections and reassembled everything. The dishwasher has been working since.
you need to check the inlet walve . when you start the unit you say it drains. so after the drain do you hear the water entering the dishwasher? If you hear a sound like a buzzing noise that would be the inlet valve working. if thats the case there is a clog at the screen in the valve not allowing the water or enough water in the tub. seeing that this is a portable unit you will also want to check to make sure the fill hose is not kinked up anywhere in the cabinet or under neath the dishwasher. If you hear no buzzing noise you need to check the inlet valve with a meter to first make sure your getting power to it and that the valve itself if good. check these things out and let me know what you found and we can go from there
MW, sounds like something blew on the board. I assume you do not have any lights lit on the dishwasher. Try the manual test mode by pressing the heavy wash key five times followed by the start key. If no results, remove the inner door and check for power between st-3 and st-11 on the board. Should have 120V with the door switches closed. If you have the voltage there and the control doesn't work, then it's the board. If you do not have voltage there, it's a power issue. Start with the door switches and work back to the cord terminal. There should be a tech sheet behind the toe panel that can help. Catriver..post back.
