Re: Dvd burner not detected by adobe premier pro 2.0

Instead, of rating people, you have to fix that problem, so, keep in mind some DVD burners are not detected by software, sometimes, try to readme file, and see if some models of Burners are there, other than that, see if you have some special setting for the particular Burner. ( in the software)
good luck

I have a asus AV7 with a amd 64 bit processor 2 gigs of ram windows Xp Pro 7 dvd burners NEC 16x and 2 120 gig 133HZ.sata drives and 4 133 ATA hard drives 133 maxtor 120 gig configured in a raid stripped 0...

There is a glitch on those AV7 boards ata controler I think. Check the website for the new drivers supposedly they help, but all they did was crash my raid after I installed them. I ended up cloning the whole raid over to a single large sata drive and put in an ide to sata card (non raid unfortunately) and the problem went away. I only had the problem under very heavy disk loading. It seemed to not be quite so bad when I added some additional cooling aimed at the motherboard. As to if it will help your software problem I am unsure. However the only time mine did the mini dump was when I was doing heavy video editing work and after nixing the raid it fixed it, But then again a bad drive in a raid can cause that also.

Don't understand how to edit a long DVD that was converted from VHS. Using Adobe Premiere Elements 3

The solution offered by the FixYa expert probably would have worked but was a poor solution. I needed help with a particular piece of software - Adobe Premiere Elements and the expert by-passed my software and told me I needed to convert my video using a different piece of software to which he/she gave me the URL. After paying for FixYa help and being very uncertain about the advice, I turned to Adobe and paid them for assistance. The Adobe tech support was excellent and they were able to pinpoint the editing problem that I had encountered. I had learned how to edit the beginning or end of a video clip but not how to delete segments within a video. One solution ended up being: 1. cut the video into segments with each segment beginning or ending with unwanted material; 2. delete unwanted portions from the shorter segments

BTW - I did not need to convert my video, as the FixYa expert had indicated. It was fine, just as it was.

One problem with the FixYa "expert" was that his/her written English was very difficult to understand. It appeared that English was not this individual's native language and that he/she needed better command of English in order to give any confidence to folks needing help.

Photoshop does not work on vista

When Adobe began shipping Photoshop® Elements 5.0 and Adobe Premiere® Elements 3.0 software in September, final versions of Microsoft® Windows® Vista were not available to complete the testing required to ensure compatibility.
Shortly after Windows Vista becomes available to consumers, Adobe plans to release updates for Photoshop Elements 5.0 and Adobe Premiere Elements 3.0 to provide compatibility with Windows Vista.
Updates for existing Photoshop Elements 5.0 and Adobe Premiere Elements 3.0 owners will be available as a free download from, and updated Vista-compatible versions of Photoshop Elements 5.0 and Premiere Elements 3.0 will become available in the same timeframe.

tnx 4 using fixya!!!

I just downloaded adobe premier 1.5 and it is now asking for an activation code. how do i get it. thanx

If you downloaded Adobe Premier for, then you should have been given the code from Adobe. IF you didn't, then you need to contact Adobe product support.

If you downloaded it from another location, and you were prompted for a key during the installation (Not after a trial period) then it is likely a pirated version. Legally, you cannot use pirated software.

I get an error that shuts down Adobe Premiere elements

Hi Linda Green

This is a powerful piece of software and needs your P C to have some certain specs or forget it really. It sounds like that the software is detecting that you mightr need have the correct spec, or it could be the installation of the software it's self, in which case you will need to totally unistall it and then start from begkining and reinstall it. Also least likely could be a firewall, anti-virus program interfering with it, I would ask, when it closes do you get anything tellking you a reason or just the program disappearing. Check out the site below for first hand information and free bits to go with it, plus there's a list of minimum spec your computer must have for the program just to function.

For Windows XP: 512MB of RAM (1GB required for HD or Blu-ray)
For Windows Vista: 1GB of RAM (2GB required for HD or Blu-ray)
4.5GB of available hard-disk space
Color monitor with 16-bit color video card
1,024x768 monitor resolution at 96dpi or less
Microsoft DirectX 9 or 10 compatible sound and display driver
DVD-ROM drive (compatible DVD burner required to burn DVDs;
compatible Blu-ray burner required to burn Blu-ray Discs)
DV/i.LINK/FireWire/IEEE 1394 interface to connect a Digital 8 or DV camcorder,
or a USB2 interface to connect a DV-via-USB-compatible DV camcorder
(other video devices supported via the Media Downloader)

When Iam opening Adobe premier pro1.5 or 2.0 it will shows one error when opening the applicatin.Error is "Adobe Premiere Pro has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the...

Unfortunately, without some sort of error code (which Adobe Premiere does not give) it will be very difficult to track down the exact cause of the problem.

Sometimes the quickest thing to do is try uninstalling / reinstalling the software and see if thst cures it.
