I have been having a problem with my JVC but error is reset 8
If i look online it says that the Unit and CD changer are not connected properly.
I dont have a CD changer In my case its a JVC sirius box connected in the back and under the dash. Yesterday morning i got the system checked and they unpluged the car battery and it worked.
On my radio i get in tonight reset 8 again and the SAT ( sirius ) Isn't there anymore in my Options. Could it be the Sirius box dying or the radio? Maybe a bad connection? They checked it and did get it working all day

Assuming that this is not a new install (the laser is secured with a long, thin brass screw when shipped, and this screw must be removed on installation), and the unit has worked before today, then we will troubleshoot from the "damage" perspective.
The laser isn't centering itself to start position.
This could be due to track binding (dust buildup) or just a hard jolt to the base (pothole?), but the first thing to try is a soft reset...and if that doesn't get it, then a hard-reset next.
*Assuming of course that one of the kids hasn't jammed something foreign into the slot and knocked the head off-track...it happens quite often.
Soft reset: Most models have a tiny, recessed "reset" button that you can press and hold for 5 seconds with a ball-point pen, located under the faceplate. This will restore factory settings, and re-center the laser.
If the error returns, a Hard reset:
Disconnect the Positive(+) cable from the car battery for at least 30 seconds, and re-connect. You will likely lose all saved stations on the radio, but this is a last-resort to avoid removing and opening the unit.
9 times out of 10 this will solve any digital errors, and will free sticky tracks better than half of the time.
don,t want to which alpine 12 dics changer,on my ivad310 screen it said hi- temp, and no the front its say error when i which to my cd changer. so what is the problem is it , the alpine cd changer are the ivad310 needs to be reset are something let me know.
This error indicates that there is a communication problem between the
radio and the CD changer. To correct this problem check the main data
cable connection between the CD changer and the radio, make sure that
the data cable is connected properly then press the reset button on the
CD changer. If the problem still exist it is advisable to have the unit
check by an Authorized or Factory JVC Service Center.
The reset button should be behind the screen or on the front somewhere.
Ebay, and other places online, most of the time the changer is a seperate unit from the actual deck. just look around if you could post the actual brand and model of the unit in the vehicle then i could be more detailed but as of right now i say just look around as most of them connect into the actual deck and are not part of it.
Try resetting the unit by pressing the small, recessed button on the faceplate with the tip of a pen. If this doesn't work, the player may be defective. There is no wiring error (including failure to hook up the parking brake input) that will prevent the unit from playing CDs.
Look for a microprocessor reset button, it will be very small. press it with a pen or pencil. If you cannot locate this then pull the radio out and disconnect the wiring harness for a couple of minuites then plug it back in.
The dual zone control on the KD-AVX1 is only for playback of two seperate devices. For example an audio cd or dvd in the head unit is played through the front speakers and an external device like an i-pod,cd changer or any other AV device will play through the rear speakers.Either way you need an external audio or AV device for the dual zone to work.I hope this helps.. Good luck..
